Aparo began playing in a group called Angie's Hope in the early 1990s before making the decision to go solo. After making that decision, Aparo made the decision to go out on the road touring with his acoustic guitar in the Southeast. In 1996, he released his first CD Out of the Everywhere, recorded at David Briggs studio in Nashville Tennessee with Jim Stabile as engineer. Burnard Tate played drums.
In 1999, with Grammy-winning producer Matt Serletic, Aparo released The American. His single "Spaceship" hit the radio waves in 2000, and The American also includes his original version of the single "Cry", made popular by Faith Hill and featured on her album of the same name. Many songs from The American are also on a new live CD 9live that was released in 2004.
While stuck in musical limbo due to record label issues, Aparo released Weapon of Mass Construction (2001) (Re-released under the title One With the Sun): a CD of cover songs taken from varying artists from The Beastie Boys to Neil Young and Elton John, as well as two previously unreleased originals. In his own words, "It was fun, and I got it out of my system." [1]
In 2003, another album -For Stars and Moon, a Beatles-influenced showcase - was released independently. This took Aparo's music in a different direction.
Most recently, Aparo has put together The Infidels, and is touring the southeast while recording a new album with producer Dann Huff. The music again is in a different direction than his previous recordings.
Shine On

In the beginning
Up on command post number nine
They gave me the living
With my love in place
They sent me on
Programmed to remain
With my love I feel no pain
Shine on love
Shine on
Up to the heaven
Silver, blue, and red horizon
Shine on love
Shine on
Up to the heaven
I came down in a silver dream
Just to be given
The memory of your love for me
In this empty place
My circuit's done
Just the cold remains
Of another mother robot's son
With your love I feel no pain
Shine on love
Shine on
Up to the heaven
Up to the heaven yeah
My soul was only in disguise
Yeah
Underneath my robot eyes
Yeah
Now I know my love will shine
Yeah, yeah
Up to the heaven yeah
My soul was only in disguise
Yeah
Underneath my robot eyes
Yeah
Now I know my love will shine
Yeah, yeah
The first line of Angie Aparo’s “Shine On” sets the tone for the rest of the song: “I was born at the end of time.” From this line, it’s clear that the song is about a being that is not human. Throughout the song, the lyrics make references to the fact that the singer is a robot, programmed to perform certain tasks. However, as the song progresses, it becomes clear that this robot has developed feelings and emotions that it was not necessarily programmed to have.
One of the key themes in the song is the idea that love can transcend all boundaries, even those of machine and man. The lyrics frequently mention the power of love, and how it helps the robot cope with the challenges it faces. “With my love in place, they sent me on,” sings Aparo. “With your love I feel no pain,” he adds later on.
Overall, “Shine On” is a poignant meditation on what it means to be human, and how even the most inhuman of beings can experience emotions like love and pain.
