Angry Agency exploded onto the local scene in late 1999. The product of boredom, this relentlessly hard working band has developed a large name for themselves in very little time. They have pushed the boundaries of music to create a style all their own complimented by an intense, high energy live performance.
Lyrical attention is focused, though not solely, on political and personal messages. Topics such as police brutality, love, sweatshops and even vegetarianism. Though not all members agree on any one topic, their differences aid to the overall diversity of this powerful group.
Their unique sound combines elements of ska, punk, hard rock, fast time changes and hardcore breakdowns producing high energy, highly emotional music that is very emo and cool. Renowned for their ballistic live performances this group have toured across Canada many times, playing in many different cities and provinces all the while staying Indie.
They have also drawn media attention for holding and playing benefit shows for issues such as women's rights, homelessness and many other non-profit organizations in and around the city of London.
The band recently called it quits in 2009, playing their final show to a packed house at Call The Office in London, ON.

Cause flashy colours on fancy flags will get us nowhere fast / And it seems that nation states are problem number one / When the defense of national sovereignty defends the ethnic cleansing / We need someone who can get this job done
And if I close my eyes just for a moment
It's a bird it's a plane, it's disparity in the air
The nation state is so much more than an opponent
So where are you superhero, superhero where are you?
We need someone who will fight for what is fair
Equal things to equal people is what it seems to me / The lines have never been drawn so very clear / When economic gains deny an entire people / Evil makes their cities disappear
The villains need to be locked behind titanium bars / So the UN can't selectively ignore / The travesties that happen on an almost daily basis / The casualties that are lost because of war
And if I close my eyes just for a moment
It's a bird it's a plane, it's disparity in the air
The nation state is so much more than an opponent
We need someone who will fight for what is fair
So where are you superhero, superhero where are you?
We need someone who will fight for what is fair
In "Superhero," Angry Agency calls for real superheroes who can defend the weak, stand up for the voiceless, and fight for what is fair in a world full of ethnic cleansing, economic gains, and war casualties. The band members argue that the flashy colors on fancy flags won't solve the world's problems, and that nation-states should not prioritize their sovereignty over human rights. Instead, they need someone with good intentions and real skills to make a difference.
The song's refrain of "It's a bird, it's a plane, it's disparity in the air" powerfully illustrates the contrast between the hopeful idea of superheroes flying in to save the day and the harsh reality of social inequality and injustice. The verses further elaborate on the complex issues that require action from superheroes, focusing on the need to lock up villains, hold the UN accountable, and draw clear lines of economic and social equality.
Overall, "Superhero" is a passionate call for action, using the concept of superheroes to highlight the need for real heroes in everyday life. Angry Agency encourages listeners to think deeply about the issues facing our world and to look for ways to make a positive impact.
