I'm Yours
Angus & Julia Stone Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wait, wait on the corner
I'm coming for ya
You know things will change
Love is a mistake we made
Wasn't a price I wanted to pay

I'm yours
I'm yours
I'm yours
I'm yours

Hope, oh what a funny word
Wasn't like I was expecting all this falling down
I sit by the window,
Watching the air that you breathe,
So far away

I'm yours
I'm yours

I'm yours
I'm yours

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Angus & Julia Stone's "I'm Yours" depict the singer's longing and desire for someone they care about. The opening lines, "Wait, wait on the corner / I'm coming for ya" suggest that the singer is trying to get back together with this person, or maybe they're just trying to express their feelings. However, the lyrics also hint that there has been a mistake or a price to pay for their love, suggesting that maybe there was some kind of falling out or disagreement between them that they are now trying to reconcile.

The lines "Love is a mistake we made / Wasn't a price I wanted to pay" further emphasize this idea of regret and the consequences of their love. It's possible that the singer is acknowledging that their love wasn't perfect, but that they were willing to make it work despite the challenges. The repeated lines "I'm yours" convey the singer's commitment and dedication to this person, despite any hardships they may have faced.

The chorus also features the line "Hope, oh what a funny word / Wasn't like I was expecting all this falling down", which could be interpreted as the singer acknowledging that they had hopes and expectations for their relationship that were not met. However, they are still holding on to their feelings and watching the person they care about from afar.

@HesterPrynne0

Of course you gotta save a little... I think what he meant is more that you should enjoy life, nature, love and everything while you can. "Live" for expectations such as retirement and future is not a way to live...

@nadi7909

I still here!

@sbalogh53

Julia's voice reminds me so much of Melanie Safka, especially songs such as "Lay Lady Lay" and "Brand New Key". I love her voice. It sounds so innocent.

@BellaMaree1
