Warrior
Anilah Lyrics

Reasoning lets go
and I am propelled in to you
My Skin widening...

Reasoning lets go
and I am propelled into you

Hands and arms grow
and I release what must go
My skin widening
to feel your angelic arms

((Come close
so that I can melt into you))
Come Close…

Reasoning lets go
and I am propelled in to you
My skin widening
to your angelic arms
Leaving this weight behind
My spine becomes light

((Clean my senses
so that I can hear you
clearly))

Reasoning lets go
and I am propelled into you
hands and eyes grow
and i release what must go

My Skin widening...
to feel
your
angelic
arms

We lay down our weapons
at your feet
take us with grace
to the other field

Can we Lay down our weapons
and the tired intellect
rise above
and...

((Bring me Grace))

I know you Can

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Anilah's song "Warrior" chronicle the singer's journey toward spiritual transcendence through the act of surrendering oneself to a higher power. In the opening lines, the singer invokes "reasoning" as a force that they must let go in order to be "propelled" toward their destination. The physical transformation of "hands and arms" growing and the "skin widening" suggest a physical manifestation of this surrender. The singer reaches out to this higher power, asking to "come close" so they can "melt into you," indicating a desire to dissolve their individual identity in favor of something larger.

As the singer continues to let go of what must be released, they describe their physical self becoming lighter, with their "spine" releasing tension. The act of "cleaning [their] senses" indicates a purification of the self, allowing the singer to "hear [the higher power] clearly." The repetition of "reasoning lets go" underscores the idea that the singer believes they must give up their thought processes in order to access a deeper state of consciousness.

In the final stanza, the singer makes a supplication to the higher power, asking it to allow them to lay down their weapons and rise above the "tired intellect," suggesting a desire to be freed from the constraints of the mind. The singer trusts in the power to bring them "grace" and ultimately believes that the power can help them reach their destination.

After realizing today that I had added this song to a playlist on Spotify and hadn't fully appreciated it, and now having listened to this multiple times since "rediscovering" it - I have to ask, no, BEG that either you personally, or all of us here on the internet, somehow encourage Tool to do a cover of this, or even redo this with you, Anilah.

Please.

I can hear Maynard singing with you. I can hear Justin, Danny, and Adam just absolutely rocking to this.

I can hear it in my head. It is beautiful and epic as fuck - just as epic as this song already is.

I want you to hear it. I want Tool to hear it. I want the world to hear it.

I want us all to experience it.

There's not many chants or music tracks that reach me like this. Whatever you're getting this inspiration from, please don't lose sight of it. Something about it speaks to us on a level that many of us have forgotten possible. It speaks in a language many of us don't know. And perhaps, in sharing this, people can find the warrior in themselves like I do.
Over the years, I've failed to find music that has the same effect as this. I have returned to this track for my meditation and trance repeatedly.
I cannot describe the primal feeling this invokes within me; the empathy and confidence I gain in feeling secure within myself for once. As a trauma survivor, I never feel so empowered as I do with this song. My spirituality meets my will to survive and fight on in a perfect balance, which no other track has provided me with before or since. Frankly, I'll continue to come back to this so long as I have it available.
Thanks go to both you and Einar, as well as any others who worked on this project with you. May the forces that be grace you all.

Anilah Official  Wow! You know, I used to hear people say things like "I can feel this song in my soul." I always shook my head in disbelief and thought they were simply imagining things... Now I don't question it. This music truly does something to me on the inside. I get chills throughout the whole thing. Such an incredibly powerful piece. Literally in it's own dimension! Love it! Love it! Love it!
