One pay
I couldn't stay
Nothing to say
I couldn't see
To scared to be
Trapped in a spell
You're the one that I'll love
the one that I'll keep
like a secret dove
hidden in my sleeve
hidden in my past
more than memory
without you my heart
wouldn't beat in me
One night
One fight
Just you and me
And I was to be
My own enemy
My heart like a fist
Couldn've been a gun
Only to resist
Only to resist
Until the new sun
Of another day
Until I could run
My lonely lover
I just left you here
And went to the lake
To wash my hands
You're the one that I'll love
the one that I'll keep
like a secret dove
hidden in my sleeve
hidden in my past
more than memory
without you my heart
wouldn't beat in me
The song "Lonely Lover" by Anita Lipnicka is about a relationship that has ended due to the singer feeling trapped and scared. In the first verse, the singer describes a day when she couldn't bring herself to stay with her lover because she had nothing left to say. She feels trapped in a spell, a part of history that she cannot escape from.
The second verse describes a night where the couple had a fight, and the singer feels as if she is her own enemy. She cannot bring herself to be with her lover, and describes her heart as being like a fist, ready to resist any attempts at reconciliation. But she knows that she cannot resist forever, and so she waits for the dawn of a new day when she can run away.
Despite her fears and doubts, the singer acknowledges that her lover is the one that she loves and will keep hidden like a secret dove in her sleeve. Her lover is a part of her past and more than just a memory - without them, her heart wouldn't beat in her.
Overall, "Lonely Lover" is a poignant and emotional look at a relationship that has come to an end due to fear and a sense of being trapped. It speaks to the often-complicated nature of love and the struggles we face when it comes to opening ourselves up to another person.
