She comes from the small central European nation of Slovenia and began training in dance and piano early on and she entered conservatory for piano and musical theatre when she moved to San Jose, California, at 14. It was there that she was finally able to truly immerse herself in another discipline sheโd been working at for some time: vocal performance.
Her original pop songwriting took shape as NOMAD, her first full-length record. She relied on the generosity of fans through Kickstarter, eventually topping $20,000 for the project. The first single from the album was nominated for Best Pop Song at the 2017 American Songwriting Awards.
One of Kotarโs goals with her music career is to create a โmultifaceted experience for the listener,โ so she teamed up with designers to give each of the ten tracks on NOMAD a fashion piece to accompany it.
She plans to tackle the complexities of our digital lives with lyrical turn-of-phrase and visual symbolism, taking inspiration from Black Mirror and incorporating fashion at every opportunity.

Another Friday night
Another talk that
Might turn into a fight
Too many faces
You only see online
Too many cases
Of faking by design
Wake up every morning just to go right back to sleep
Text everyone you already know you'll never meet
Dance alone around your room and get down to the beat
Wanna change the world
Twenty-one and feeling old (hey!)
Being young and engaged in the modern age
Only seen on the screen, internet's our stage
Reaching high, wondering why no one knows the pain
Got the world at our feet
But we're all just kids
Another movie
Another neon light
Another way to
Forget the life outside
Too many places
You only see online
"Love yourself, you can't be beat"
But honesty is scary so you go and hit delete
Wake up every morning just to go right back to sleep
Text everyone you already know you'll never meet
Dance alone around your room and get down to the beat
Wanna change the world
Twenty-one and feeling old (hey!)
Being young and engaged in the modern age
Only seen on the screen, internet's our stage
Reaching high, wondering why no one knows the pain
Got the world at our feet
But we're all just kids
Is it true that I'm connecting
Or reality rejecting
Just a second, it's my phone
Can we finish later on?
Is it true that I'm connecting
Or reality rejecting
Just a second, it's my phone
Can we finish later on?
Being young and engaged in the modern age
Only seen on the screen, internet's our stage
Reaching high, wondering why no one knows the pain
Got the world at our feet
But we're all just kids
Yeah we're all just kids
Yeah we're all just kids
Being young and engaged in the modern age
Only seen on the screen, internet's our stage
