Born on 27th April 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, Peebles was discovered as a talent by Gene "Bowlegs" Miller of Hi Records during a 1968 trip to sit in singing with him at a Memphis, Tennessee, nightclub. A popular local bandleader, Miller was known for also helping other musicians, such as members of the Hi Rhythm Section, get their starts in the Memphis music industry. Peebles soon began writing and singing hits for the label, cowriting with label staff songwriter Don Bryant, whom she married in 1974. Peebles released a number of commercially successful and critically well received albums produced by Willie Mitchell on Hi Records throughout the 1970s, until the rise of disco in the late 1970s took her music out of the limelight. Hi Records was sold in 1977, but Peebles reunited with Willie Mitchell in 1989 to produce her comeback album, Call Me.
A Love Vibration

'Cause it's too late for us to cry
If we had known what we had goin' on
We would've never let this feeling die
We let a love vibration, pass us by
We let a love vibration, pass us by
Boy, you made me feel so good inside
Because we both had been used by love before
We thought this feeling we had to hide
We let a love vibration, pass us by
We let a love vibration, pass us by
Neither one of us played the game by the rules
I was too busy being tough and you were too busy being cool
The next time around I'll be ready
If the feeling ever comes my way again
I won't be a fool
I'll play the game by the rules
I won't let this feeling get away from me again
We let a love vibration, pass us by
We let a love vibration, pass us by
We let a love vibration, pass us by...
In Ann Peebles's song A Love Vibration, the lyrics express regret about letting a relationship come to an end. The first stanza implies that the singer and her partner missed the chance to save their love, and that they are beyond the point of being able to fix things. The second stanza reveals that they had a powerful connection at some point, and that they were hesitant to express themselves due to past heartbreak. The final stanza suggests that the two of them were not entirely honest or open with each other, and that they both made mistakes in the relationship. However, the singer promises to do things differently in the future, and not let another opportunity slip away.
Overall, the song is about the fragility of relationships and how easily they can be broken if both parties don't fully commit. The singer's regret and promise to learn from the experience make for a relatable and emotional message.

For some reason this song made me imagine some non-existent place from my dreams, actually not relating to any real place that exist. Great music!
