I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same, babe, if you're not here with me
And when those blue snowflakes start falling
That's when those blue memories start calling
You'll be doin' all right with your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
You'll be doin' all right with your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue Christmas
And then those those blue snowflakes start falling
That's when those blue memories start calling
You'll be doin' all right with your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
Well, I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
The song "Blue Christmas" by Ann Wilson & Nancy Wilson is a classic holiday tune that beautifully captures the feeling of loneliness and heartbreak during the festive season. The lyrics express the sadness and longing that comes with spending Christmas without someone special. The singer states that they will have a 'blue Christmas' without their loved one and will be constantly reminded of them. The decorations and festivities, although cheerful, won't be the same without them. The chorus repeats the phrase 'blue, blue, blue Christmas' emphasizing the depth of their feeling of sadness.
The second verse of the song delves deeper into the emotions of the singer. When the blue snowflakes start to fall, they are flooded with memories of better times with their loved one. They acknowledge that the person they miss will have a 'Christmas of white' which refers to the happy and joyful time that they will have without them. However, the singer's feelings of loss and 'blue' emotions are still prevalent. The song ends with a repeat of the chorus emphasizing the depth of their sadness.
Overall, the song "Blue Christmas" is a poignant and emotionally charged piece that highlights the feeling of loneliness that can often accompany the holiday season. The lyrics beautifully evoke the longing and sadness that comes with being apart from someone special during this festive time.
