We Could Be Something
Anna F. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Nobody likes you sometimes I like you
You know I'd like to punch you in the face right now
And when you're gone I I love you so much
When you get close I think I'm falling out of love

And we could be something and this could be more
Than drunk and naked lying on the floor
And we could be something the something in the way
Won't you say? Won't you say?

You want a Chinese I wanna Thai food
Yeah that was so cool I think I'm gonna start a fight
I like the joke that that you just don't get it
And when get it it's already way too late

And we could be something and this could be more
Than drunk and naked lying on the floor
And we could be something the something in the way
Won't you say? Won't you say?

You got leave them out
Get my phone near my mouth
What are we talking about?
Blablablaaaa
Everything bring it out
So we're screaming we shout
After all After all I say ooooooooooo

And we could be something and you know what I mean
You could be king and I could be your Queen
But I keep on thinking We just may make a believe
You and me

And we could be something and this could be more
Than drunk and naked lying on the floor

And we could be something the something in the way
Won't you say? Won't you say?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Anna F.'s song We Could Be Something seem to be about a complicated relationship between two people who love and hate each other at the same time. The first verse talks about how the singer likes the person she is singing about, even though nobody else likes them. However, she admits to having violent thoughts towards them. The second half of the verse suggests that when this person is gone, the singer loves them even more, but when they are close, she falls out of love. This could mean that the person is difficult to be around or that their flaws become more apparent up close.

The chorus talks about the possibility of the two of them having a real relationship instead of just sleeping together while drunk. The singer wishes to take this connection further and asks the person if they feel the same. The second verse talks about how the two of them have different tastes and opinions and how this causes a fight between them. The singer finds humor in the situation, but then regrets it because they already have made up their minds that they don't like each other. Yet, in the end, the singer seems to want to give the relationship another chance and admits that they could be something.

In general, the song seems to explore the complexities of love and lust, and how people can genuinely care for each other despite their differences.
