Forgiveness
Anna Faris Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is more than saying sorry
Forgiveness,
Means accepting peoples flaws
To forgive is devine
So lets have a glass of wine
And have make up sex
Forgiveness,
Does not mean compromising
Lets forgive and forget
And solve this african debt
Just like the chesire cat
Who says
"Meow, your running out of time time time time time time, MEOW"
Forgiveness,
Forgiveness,
Forgiveness,
Forgiveness...
The lyrics of Anna Faris's song Forgiveness explore the meaning and importance of forgiveness in a relationship. The first two lines "Forgiveness, is more than saying sorry, Forgiveness, means accepting people's flaws" suggest that the act of forgiveness involves accepting the imperfections of the person who has hurt you, and not just accepting an apology. This indicates that forgiveness requires a deeper level of understanding and empathy towards the person who has wronged you.
The subsequent lines, "To forgive is divine, So let’s have a glass of wine, And have make-up sex until the end of time, time, time," suggests that forgiveness is a transformative act that can bring the couple together and help heal the hurt caused by the breakup. This implies that forgiveness, while difficult, can bring rewards and a stronger bond between the couple.
The chorus, which repeats the word forgiveness, emphasizes the importance of the act and its power to heal and bring people together. Overall, the lyrics suggest that forgiveness is a crucial element of any relationship and requires a willingness to move past hurt and accept the people we love for who they are.

The funny thing about this song is that it was made to be hated but in the end becomes a catchy tune that everybody that saw the movie 'Just Friends' remembers.

Even more funny is forgiveness is the only true path to peace. So her opening line "to forgive is divine" is a truthful statement presented in audacious parody. A slap in the face to Christians perhaps, or maybe a simple Easter egg from one good one still grinding out a living within the belly of the beast. Either way. Forgive your mother. Forgive your father. And God will find you again.
