SAHARA
Anna Puu Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
ehtyneet ne on
kun niitä sinuun tuhlasin
murtuvaa et nää
mun on mahdoton
itkeä niin kuin aiemmin.
Ei kyyneltäkään, kuin sahara oon
ei kyyneltäkään
vain kerran särjetään
sydän mun, se joka oli sun.
Kyyneltäkään et saa
sä ottanut oot
jo kaiken mitä pystyin antamaan
sun murtuvan nään, silmäsi kostukoot
siinä nyt itket vuorostaan.
Ei kyyneltäkään, kuin sahara oon...
In Anna Puu's Sahara, the lyrics revolve around the theme of heartbreak and moving on. The song begins with the singer stating that she no longer has any tears left to cry over the person she is singing about. She has used them all up trying to fix things with this person, but nothing worked. She then admits that it's impossible for her to cry like she used to. This is indicative of the emotional toll the relationship has taken on her.
In the chorus, the metaphor of the Sahara desert is used to describe her lack of tears. She says she is like the Sahara, with no tears left. The desert is also a symbol of desolation and barrenness, which represents the emotional state of the singer after the break up. She acknowledges that her heart was once his, but now it's shattered, and it won't break again. She then addresses the person she's singing about saying that he won't get a single tear from her since he has taken everything she had to give, leaving her broken-hearted, and she has nothing left to give.
Overall, the lyrics of Sahara convey a sense of emotional exhaustion and heartbreak. The singer has given her all to someone who has left her feeling barren and desolate, with nothing left to give. The Sahara metaphor brilliantly captures this feeling of emptiness and desolation. It's a song about being broken but accepting it and moving on.
