The Loneliness Is Gone
Anna Ternheim Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm just as weak as you
Afraid of living without you
Afraid of dying out of love
It's a new thing I have for you
I'm alone
But the loneliness is gone
Some kind of space we live in
Emptiness grows from inside
On our own we are weightless
With you I stand my ground
Always be better half of me
It's a new thing I have for you
I'm alone
But the loneliness is gone
The loneliness is gone
The lyrics of Anna Ternheim's "The Loneliness is Gone" delve deep into the emotions of someone who has been afraid of losing someone they hold dear. The lyrics begin with a question, "Can you keep a secret?" It is as if the songwriter is talking directly to the person who is listening to the song. The statement, "I'm just as weak as you" communicates an inherent need for reassurance that they are not alone in their vulnerability. This is followed by the admission of fear, "Afraid of living without you, afraid of dying out of love."
Throughout the song, the concept of "aloneness" is explored. Contrasting it with loneliness, the songwriter describes the "new thing" they have found - the ability to be alone, but not lonely. The space that surrounds us is depicted as "emptiness grows from inside" but it is only when we are with someone who truly understands us that we can "stand our ground". The lyrics end on the resounding note that the loneliness has gone, and while the feeling of being alone may remain, it is ultimately outweighed by the power of love.
In short, "The Loneliness is Gone" is a beautifully crafted song that explores the concept of solitude, fear, and love. The songwriter's unique ability to convey powerful emotions through simple yet expressive lyrics has made this song an unforgettable masterpiece.
