So we can say that "laiko" is a contemporary musical style that basically combines Greek sounds with Arabic and Turkish ones in a "pop formula".
Here in Spain we have the case of "Contemporary Flamenco" where Flamenco vocal stylings and instrumentation such as handclaps or guitars are combined with other instruments and influences from styles such as "Dance", "Rock" or even "Latin American Sounds".
But actually "Traditional Flamenco" is not a mainstream style at all and it doesn't please the ear of everybody, although it has a lot of adepts but it's not a genre you hear on the radio and flamenco albums are not sold massively.
Flamenco and music from North Africa and the Middle East also have a lot of characteristics in common and there have been great Flamenco-Arabic fusions through the years.
There's another traditional Spanish style called "Copla" which I highly recommend to you and that in the last decades has been quite ignored.
Original "Copla" consists of Orchestral Compositions acompannied by often dramatic lyrics and very theatrical interpretations by the performers (the most famous ones are usually women) telling a whole story with a beginning and an end through the song with powerful vocal stylings that are somehow similar to Flamenco although very different at the same time and many "untrained ears" tend to confuse them hahahaha.
Greek music and Spanish Folkore share some similarities when It comes to vocal ornamentations, in fact some of Anna's powerful ballads that have string arrangements somehow remind me of some "Copla" songs.

Τα γυρίσματα της είναι για σεμινάριο! Πρωτότυπη ηλεκτρονική ενορχήστρωση σε τσιφτετέλι. Μόνο ο Καρβέλας είναι μάστορας σε αυτά και η Βίσση τα απογειώνει με τη φωναρα της.

Το είχα απολαύσει σε μια κινηματογραφική αίθουσα, πριν από μια ταινία στα #VillageCinemas. Ήταν υπέροχο. Σε ποιότητα film. Πολύ καλό! Αν δεν κάνω λάθος στο έργο "City by the sea" ("Το σημάδι του δολοφόνου") το 2002. Το "Τάσεις Αυτοκτονίας" είναι το μοναδικό Ελληνικό video clip που έχει γίνει film και έχει προβληθεί σε αίθουσες κινηματογράφου.
