Don't Go Away
Anne Hathaway Lyrics
A: (Don't, don't, don't, don't go breakin')
Don't go breakin' my heart
J: I couldn't if I tried
A: Oh honey if I get restless
J: Baby you're not that kind
Elf: Don't go breaking my heart
Heidi Klum: You take the weight off of me
Minnie Driver: You knocked on my closed door boy
Benny: I gave you my key
A: Oooh, nobody knows it
J: And nobody knows it
Right from the start
A: I gave you my heart
J: Oh baby, you know
Both: I gave you my heart
Both: so don't go breakin' my heart
I wont go breakin' your heart
J: Oooh don't go breakin' my
A: Don't go breakin' my heart
J: And nobody told us
A: 'Coz nobody showed us
J: Come on baby its up to us now
A: Oooo I think we can make it
Both: Oooo, and nobody knows it
(Nobody knows it)
J: Right from the start
A: I gave you my heart
J: Oh baby, you know
Both: I gave you my heart
Don't go breakin' my heart
I wont go breakin' your heart
Don't go breakin' my
Don't go breakin' my
Don't go breakin' my heart
J: Ooooohhh
You put the sparks through the flame
A: I got your heart at my side
Both: Ooooo, and nobody knows it
(And nobody knows it)
A: And when I was down
J: I was your clown
right from the start
A: I gave you my heart
J: Oooo, baby
Both: I gave you my heart
A: (Don't, don't, don't, don't go breakin')
I won't go breakin'
Both: Don't go breakin' my heart
J: I will never
A: I wont go breakin' your heart
Both: Oh don't go breakin' my
Don't go breakin' my
A: Don't go breakin' my heart
J: Ooooooo
A: Don't go breakin' my heart
J: Yea yea yea
A: I won't go breakin' your heart
J: Ooo don't go breakin' my
A: Don't go breakin' my
Both: Don't go breakin' my heart

She gained widespread recognition for her roles in The Princess Diaries (2001) and its 2004 sequel as a young girl who discovers she's a member of royalty, opposite Julie Andrews and Heather Matarazzo.
She also had a notable role in Nicholas Nickleby (2002) opposite Charlie Hunnam and Jamie Bell, and a starring role in Ella Enchanted (2004). A former top-ranking soprano in New York, Hathaway was reportedly a front-runner for the role of "Christine" in the 2004 The Phantom of the Opera (2004). However, due to scheduling conflicts with The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), she couldn't take the role, which was later given to newcomer Emmy Rossum.
Hathaway soon started to move away from family-friendly films. Following The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), she appeared topless in the films Havoc (2005) opposite Josh Peck and Brokeback Mountain (2005) opposite Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. Her desire to break out of her "Princess Diaries" image parallels that of her one-time co-star, Julie Andrews, who went topless in the film S.O.B. (1981) in order to break away from the image she created from her 1960s musicals. In interviews, Hathaway said that doing family-friendly films didn't mean she was similar to their characters or mean she objected to appearing nude in other films.
Other films she has starred in include The Devil Wears Prada (2006) opposite Meryl Streep, Becoming Jane (2007), in which she plays a young Jane Austen, and Rachel Getting Married (2008) in which she plays Rachel's sister who comes home for her sister's wedding after rehab.
Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. Her father, Gerald Thomas Hathaway, is a lawyer, and her mother, Kathleen Ann (née McCauley), is an actress who inspired Hathaway to follow in her footsteps. The family moved to Millburn, New Jersey, when she was six years old. Hathaway has an older brother, Michael, and a younger brother, Thomas. She is of mostly Irish and French ancestry, with distant Native American and German roots.

Moonbeams and starlight, magical twilight
The warmest ray, hear it whispering your names
Rainbows at midnight, sparkling night skies
Don't go away, stay another day.
Minha garganta, pede pra eu cantar E a dor se vai, como uma lembrança vai
Desde criança, e até o sol raiar Pra descansar, quando te encontrar
Estica a coluna, pra sapatear
E diz a rima, que eu vou te amar
E abre a roda pra eu te mostrar
Que eu vim aqui só pra cantar

This is the translation of the Portuguese My throat, ask me to sing And the pain goes away, like a memory goes Ever since childhood, and until the sun rises To rest, when I find you Stretch my spine, to tap dance And says the rhyme, that I will love you So open the circle for me to show you That I came here just to sing Stretch my spine, to tap dance And says the rhyme, that I will love you So open the circle for me to show you That I came here just to sing

I don’t mean to offend anyone, but can you please stop saying that the English part should be longer or only mentioning that Anne Hathaway sings well. It was a BRAZILIAN singer that wrote all the songs for both Rio films, the film was based in Brazil, there was bound to be some element from the country’s culture and music included in every song.
So please just give both singers credit, you may not understand what’s being said in the Portuguese part, but trust me ( I am Brazilian ) that it’s just as beautiful as the the part Anne sings. Thanks for reading this very long comment, again I did not mean to offend anyone, just saying you should give both singers credit

The Portuguese version sounds way more poetic in my opinion, I wish the Portuguese version was longer ! I always loved Brazil as well, Deus te abençoe meu amigo :)
