Actually, no she wasn't. In the early 80's she brought her young son with her to buy some ice cream at the shop I was working at. I couldn't believe her rudeness to us. I was embarrassed for her and her son.

Annette was what all teenage girls wished to be. She had personality, charm, good looks, talent, just about everything. I grew up with her and thank her for wonderful memories and great entertainment. The way she handled her sickness was amazing. She was very special.

Annette Funicello was an Icon. We all grew up with her and the mickey mouse club. I believe there was never anyone as adorable as her and then growing into such an Icon in the industry. She was a hero in real life, Love Her!

The late Christopher Reeve also fought hard against his paralysis and tried several novel medical interventions. Sadly, he also succumbed. These people are so inspiring with their courage and innovations against terrible medical conditions.

I found it very interesting that he actually had no money when he was diagnosed despite being Superman and it was a friend and I can't remember which one unfortunately another actor who helped financially support him to get the treatment that was available then. And it's interesting in that it affects people of all financial statuses and that money makes a difference in what you get and how you're treated and even how you may do with your illness. I don't think it should be that way.

I will always admire her from her days on the Mickey Mouse Club, this was way before my time but I have seen videos of it over the years and thought that she was totally amazing, it was also super great to see how she tried to help so many others who have MS as well and those who may develop it, she will forever remain in the hearts of all her fans both young and old. I also love how she had such a supportive husband who helped her so much in later life.

I grew up watching her in the Disney movies and saw the reruns of The Danny Thomas Show. I was devastated when I saw her on TV in the final years of her life. She was unrecognizable and it broke my heart. Now here I am at 63 and one of my daughters has MS. She will be 28 in 2 days and was diagnosed 8 years ago. She does an infusion treatment every 6 months and takes some meds, but I see how she sometimes struggle with walking and sometimes has to leave work because she can’t cope. It kills me inside. She’s married with 2 little boys and I want her to live a long normal life and not end up like dear Annette.

Aww, Annette. She was the epitome of loveliness. I remember seeing her on “Full House” when I was a young kid. Then I recognized her in Disney Movies, and from the Disney Channel. I always liked her. I also suffer from MS and my greatest fear was turning out like Annette. Education about our shared disease and new medications from foundations like Annette’s give me hope. May God show mercy upon her. The courageous warrior she was inspires us all. Patients, spouses, parents and children have been and will continue to be inspired by her.

Now, as an adult living the the slow progression of vanishing white matter she is one of my primary heroes. I watch the Mouseketeer when I was a child and Annette was my favorite girl on the program. I am not sure about the boy I liked but Dusty keeps coming to mind. It is sad to know that she suffered so much and fought such an uphill battle.

Annette was a talented lady, even after the original Mickey Mouse Club ended its 4 season run in 1959. She still made appearances in the 1970s incarnation of the Mickey Mouse Club as well as the 1990s version known as MMC (The All New Mickey Mouse Club). RIP

I wasn’t born yet when The Mickey Mouse Club first aired but one of the local independent TV stations showed reruns of the show in the 1970’s during after school time. I had mouse ears and would wear them while sitting in my Daddy’s armchair and watching the show. I had several favorites and Annette was one of them. I also had 2 black vinyl records with songs from the show on them.

I hate that she had to suffer with MS but I’m glad she had a husband who helped take care of her.

Annette was absolutely my favorite Mouseketeer. I grew up watching the Mickey Mouse Club. I even named one of my dolls "Annette" after her. I am so sorry that she and her family had to go through such a terrible illness. Annette was a wonderful role model in her earlier life and career. Even with such a devastating disease she continued to be a great role model and a beacon of light and hope. Several times, when I have met another lady named Annette, they have told me that they were named for Annette Funicello. My husband told me that he always had a major crush on Annette. I don't think she ever realized how very much she was loved by so many people.

I have MS myself so it's kind of hard to choose how you want to remember someone. Annette was a beautiful person inside and out. But I think by remembering her illness and how she tried to find a cure is wonderful as well

She was a special person and she was a pioneer, legend during her days and her life. She was so well grounded and gave praise to Walt Disney during her time with Disney. She has this presence, intelligence and special aura. She was beautiful, courageous during her lifetime and fought til she passed away from MS. MS is a nerve disease that has no mercy on anybody. The research she wanted to make others aware of this deadly disease is hopefully still looking for a cure to this disease. RIH Ms. Annette, Thanks for your contributions!

We as a family watch the Pee Wee Christmas special that she and Frankie where guests on. First on VHS tape and now on DVD. What a lovely lady she was

I also have MS. I did HSCT (watch Selma Blair’s documentary on discovery+) and it rid me of this awful disease. My hope is that this procedure becomes more widely available and gives more options to those struggling with this terrible disease.

My uncle had this disease at an early age, it finally took him at 55. It is a horrible disease, and heartbreaking to watch your family member slowing being strangled by it.

I will always remember her in the beach movies. I hope, when she crossed they had a blanket on the beach with her name on it. I'll bet she crossed that bridge dancing!

Annette was my favorite mousekateer !! She was just a sweetheart and I loved her. I am sad that she had to suffer with that horrible disease but I am thankful she had a wonderful husband who took care of her the rest of her life. God bless him also. I know she is singing and dancing for the Lord in heaven and more alive than ever. You will always be forever young and beautiful Annete.

Along the same time line as Annette, my older brother developed MS. He had the primary progressive type from late 1980s until his death in 2004 at age 60. This is a horrible disease! Once he was wheelchair bound, I had him move in with me until it became almost too hard to even get out of bed. We had a visiting nurse as well as hired aides coming to my house. He developed bed sores despite special bedding equipment to prevent that. After a brief stay in the hospital, he had to reside in a nursing home for 24 hour care. His immune system was shot and he had several bouts of pneumonia, that finally did him in. Nobody deserves to die like this!
