In the jungle, it grew a tree
Where all the animals could be

In the jungle, it grew a tree
Where all the animals could be

Sh! Let's start the record!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Annie's Song Intro" are intriguing and require some interpretation to fully grasp their meaning. The opening line "In the jungle, it grew a tree" suggests a sense of diversity in nature, as the jungle is known for its vast array of plant and animal life. However, the line takes on a deeper meaning as it implies that all living creatures, despite their differences, can find common ground and coexist peacefully within the ecosystem. The repetition of this line further emphasizes the importance of harmony and balance in the natural world.

The second line "Where all the animals could be" highlights the significance of the tree, which serves as a central meeting place for all the animals. This line emphasizes the idea of community and shows how the tree serves as a unifying force that brings all the animals together. It also suggests that the tree is a symbol of life, connecting all living creatures in a web of relationships.

The final line "Sh! Let's start the record!" is an interesting addition, as it seemingly breaks the fourth wall by suggesting that the song itself is a record that is about to be played. This line serves as an introduction to the song and prepares the listener for what is to come.

Thank you!!!

CoffinDoll

The 2014 version sucked just based of the trailer that needs to be completely forgotten. Only 1982 and 1999 was great that’s it

Guru

@CoffinDoll i think it’s decent at its best. not good, not bad. and i agree. this movie and the 1999 movie are good (i watched the 1999 one first and fell in love with it and then watched this version and loved it too)

Why isn't this version on the soundtrack? I absolutely LOVE how it starts!

Paul Whittemore

Agreed! Was always disappointed they didn't include the Columbia Pictures fanfare and Tomorrow/I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here opening credits medley on the soundtrack album.

I suspected this version wasn't on the soundtrack and was going to ask.

I hope Sony Music’s Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings will re-release the soundtrack with this track.
