After numerous delays, Don’t Stop, her second album, was scheduled for release on April 2009. However, on 25 November 2008, Annie announced that she had decided to part ways with Island Records, leaving her second album's future uncertain. The original version of the album leaked.
In May 2009, Annie released a Richard X production entitled "Anthonio". The song tells the story of a holiday affair between Annie and a man named Anthonio who she met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Annie described the song as "the ultimate summer track". The release was followed by digital releases of "Songs Remind Me Of You" and "My Love Is Better".
Don’t Stop was finally released in November 2009 to rave reviews. The album contained new tracks with Paul Epworth and a special edition bonus disc was made available.

My wild lovechild's just a riddle I'm keeping for me
Yeah, baby
I, I train 500 miles, my styleboy
Give him to me, give him to me, yeah
My wild lovechild, just minute, I'm living the dream
Yeah, baby
Give into me, give into me, yeah
Yeah, you're so loco
Everybody says that you're a no-go
I know
Yeah, you're so loco
Baby, take me down before I go-go
Yeah, gimme what I need
I tried to make a fire
The flame you'll find in me
Break out, can't you see
Kelly told me "why don't you want to wake up"
O-oh, o-oh
I can't tell them I'm gonna see you later
But I'll see you later
Yeah, you're so loco
Everybody says that you're a no-go
I know
Yeah, you're so loco
Baby, take me down before I go-go
Yeah, gimme what I need
(3x)
(what I need)
The song "Loco" by Annie is a combination of playful and cryptic lyrics that allude to the idea of a wild lovechild that the singer is keeping as a personal secret. She uses phrases like "I train 500 miles, my styleboy" and "I, I drove 500 miles, my styleboy" to suggest that she is fiercely committed to this lovechild and will go to great lengths to protect their existence. The repetition of the phrase "give into me" emphasizes the singer's desire to have this lovechild in her life and possibly hints at the idea of a physical relationship with the father.
The chorus of the song is where the phrase "loco" comes in, as the singer acknowledges that everyone says her situation is crazy, but she is willing to take the risk anyway. She asks the object of her affection to "take her down before she goes-go" and give her what she needs, suggesting that this connection is vital to her happiness.
Throughout the song, there are hints that the singer is hiding her feelings for this lovechild from others, as she references comments from someone named Kelly and expresses that she cannot tell them that she is going to see this person later.
