After numerous delays, Don’t Stop, her second album, was scheduled for release on April 2009. However, on 25 November 2008, Annie announced that she had decided to part ways with Island Records, leaving her second album's future uncertain. The original version of the album leaked.
In May 2009, Annie released a Richard X production entitled "Anthonio". The song tells the story of a holiday affair between Annie and a man named Anthonio who she met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Annie described the song as "the ultimate summer track". The release was followed by digital releases of "Songs Remind Me Of You" and "My Love Is Better".
Don’t Stop was finally released in November 2009 to rave reviews. The album contained new tracks with Paul Epworth and a special edition bonus disc was made available.

Songs Remind Me of You
Annie Lyrics

Who met a boy that said he'd change the world
Promises he only made for me
Vanished into what it could have been
Music so good...
Music so clear...
Music so good...
Every song I hear reminds me of you
Of you
Of you
Of you
Does it make you feel the same as I do?
'Cause the sound, it seems so good
How does it feel to hear your songs on the radio?
And does it hurt to hear your songs on the radio?
How does it feel to hear your songs on the radio?
And does it hurt to hear those songs on the radio?
It doesn't matter where I seem to be
The sound of you reminds eternally
Rewind it back so I can start again
Play it til I reach the very end
Music so good...
Music so clear...
Music so good...
Music so clear...
The lyrics of Annie's song "Songs Remind Me of You" tell the story of a girl who fell in love with a boy who promised to change the world for her. However, the promises were not kept, and the relationship ended. The girl finds that every song she hears reminds her of the boy and wonders if he feels the same way. The lyrics also pose the question of how it feels to hear your own songs on the radio, both as a positive and potentially hurtful experience.
The repetition of the line "Music so good... Music so clear..." throughout the song conveys the idea that the sound of the music is so powerful that it can transport the listener back to a specific memory or relationship. The theme of music as a powerful emotional trigger is explored throughout the song, emphasizing its importance to the girl in remembering and reliving the past.
Overall, "Songs Remind Me of You" is a bittersweet reflection on the power of music in shaping our memories and emotions, both positive and negative.
