Annisokay is a 5-piece up-and-coming post-hardcore act reigning in from Halle, Germany. They have laid their foundation with a driving rhythmic and melodic backbone that brings to life soulful singing with earthshaking screams. In 2014 Annisokay signed with the mature independent record label SPV / Long Branch Records. On their debut LP “The Lucid Dream[er]” (released May 2014), the band took the concepts of nightmares and lucid dreaming and explored the depths of the human mind by applying these dream metaphors to everyday situations in life. See and hear the perfect example of this in their music video "Sky”. The song received a huge positive resonance from their fanbase and got over 300.000 views on youtube by now. This was followed by two other stunning music videos for the songs „Monstercrazy" and „Day To Day Tragedy“, all directed by the guitarist and singer of the band. Annisokay already recorded new songs in the United States with famous producer Joey Sturgis so be curious about it! With an already impressive fan following in Europe, it won’t be long before Annisokay conquers the world by storm.
As veterans to the live scene, Annisokay captures the essence of their audience by delivering an unrelenting performance that never leads to a dull moment. The song Wrecking Ball by Annisokay is a tale of a tumultuous relationship that ended in heartbreak and the singer's regrets on how things turned out. The opening verse starts with a reference to the various attempts made by both parties to make the relationship work- from clawing to chaining their hearts in vain. They jumped into the relationship without much thought or questioning and mutually fell under each other's spell. The singer believed that their love could not be denied by anyone.
The chorus of the song has the singer reflecting on how the relationship ended- with him coming in like a wrecking ball, hitting hard in love. He wanted to break down the walls that the other person had built around themselves, but instead, they broke him down. Despite the heartbreak and being left as ashes on the ground, the singer can't deny that he will always want the other person.

This doesn't get enough credit for being an incredible cover. All the other covers I've seen of the same or similar genres don't have the same emotion and epic sound. I have found that I am obsessed with this cover and with this band. They did something really amazing with this.

heard this cover many years ago and the young me did not who covered it, was looking at it for a while after I randomly remembered it. This cover made me love the song and I don't even bother listening to the original. Now that I've found it, my childhood self can finally go in peace hahahaha

I think the reason that this version "takes a wrecking ball" to all the other versions is because they capture the emotion so much better than Miley and ABR did. It's not a slam against the original or anything, but annisokay embodied the post-relationship demolished feeling with the vocals and music... I still think this song is so underrated by YouTube and the music community writ large. I'mma do my part and share it again!

ABR is a wrong choice for this song. Don't get me wrong, ABR is my second favorite band after Parkway Drive but they did a bad job covering this song.
