Born in a place I didn't belong
I was brought into this world without purpose or belonging

This is a portrayal I once saw and was reminded of the hope and innocence of youth

He doesn't realize the size of his dreams
This child is unaware of the magnitude of what they can achieve

Old man always said: "You can't understand the pain that comes up with a broken dream"
However, the wise voice of experience cautions that failure can be a painful experience

I just have to leave to fulfill my dreams
I believe in the notion of going out into the world to seek and attain what I desire

I just have to see: is out there a task for me?
I have yet to discover my true purpose, but am eagerly searching for it

Too long I've been inside these walls
I've spent far too much time in my own emotional prison

Too long been trapped behind sealed doors forevermore
I've been held back by my own fears and doubts for too long

I open up the gates and I am finally free
Finally, I am opening myself up to the possibilities of the future and freeing myself from the past

At one ice-cold night, I finally saw a distant ship arriving to the shore
In a moment of clarity, I saw an opportunity on the horizon

Cold tear in her eye, the mother finds a silent ship sailing to its dawn
But as I pursue this new path, I realize there will be hardships and sacrifices to come

Chains of the past are fading behind
As I move forward, I am leaving the pain and hurt of the past behind

as my spirit leads me into my dawn
I am following my inner guide, my own sense of purpose

But how could I leave without a wound in the spirit that carries me on?
Although I am excited to go forward, I am aware that there will surely be scars and obstacles along the way

I set my sails at night
I am embarking on this new adventure with a sense of uncertainty about what lies ahead

A doubt in mind as home falls behind
I can't help but second-guess my decision as I leave my past behind

My journey's just begun
Regardless, I remind myself that this is just the beginning

With head up high, I face this life!
I will meet whatever comes my way with a sense of pride and determination

I sense a storm drawing near
As I progress, I anticipate that there will be challenges on my path

Waves keep rising as fear fills the air
The task ahead seems daunting and intimidates me

The lightning cracks the sky
In moments of pressure, I can feel like I'm being struck down by the power of my fears and doubts

Can't fight it back, just hold on tight!
But I have no choice but to stay strong and cling tight to my desires and goals when things appear bleak

Once again I gaze the sunset without a friend
Inevitably, there will be moments when I am alone on this journey

For years I've sought my task to fill my emptiness
I've searched long and hard for something to give me a sense of fulfillment and meaning

I've been so lost on my journey
But often, I feel like I am adrift and unsure of what path to take

I've felt my loneliness growing
This lack of direction and companionship has left me feeling isolated

I can't go on, but I can't go back
Although there are moments of weakness, I know that turning back to the past is not an option

Alone I'm flowing in the sea of desperate dreams
So, I must continue to swim in the uncertain waters of ambition and hope, even though they toss and turn around me

The clouds of reality rolling after me
I cannot evade the realities of life, no matter how much I might wish to

Rolling after me
They are always on my heels and force me to confront them head-on
