Antilles Lyrics

The bringer of light, the creator of life
The origin of all existence
But am I eternal?
"Thy name shall be Aton, thy name shall be Ra
Huitzilopochtli"
Every form of life has witnessed me
Silently, steadily
Almighty
Man has killed in my name
Fought wars for my glory
My countenance has always been prevailing
But will it last eternally?
But am I eternal?
"Thy name shall be Aton, thy name shall be Ra,
Huitzilopochtli"
The day I die, I'll embrace you
And you'll remain to be nothing more
Than a footnote in the history
Of this universe
Fear my countenance
Fear my grace
My augustness, my majesty
My ever present embrace
The lyrics to "Helios" by Antilles delve into themes of creation, identity, power, and mortality through the perspective of a deity or powerful being that has been present since the beginning of time. The singer reflects on their role as the bringer of light and creator of life, emphasizing their significance as the origin of all existence. However, despite their immense power and influence, the singer questions their own eternity, pondering whether they will ultimately fade into obscurity or be remembered forever.
Throughout the song, the singer mentions various names associated with them, such as Aton, Ra, and Huitzilopochtli, highlighting the different cultures and mythologies that have revered or feared them. This suggests a universal presence and impact that transcends individual beliefs or interpretations, showcasing the singer's enduring significance across diverse civilizations and histories.
The lyrics also touch upon the dark side of the singer's influence, acknowledging how mankind has committed violence and bloodshed in their name, waging wars and justifying atrocities in the name of glory and power. Despite this, the singer's countenance remains dominant and pervasive, leading to a contemplation on the nature of their eternal existence and the legacy they will leave behind.
Towards the end of the song, the singer addresses their eventual demise, expressing a sense of inevitability and acceptance. They assert that once they are gone, humanity will move on, relegating them to a mere footnote in the grand scheme of the universe. The song concludes with a warning to fear the singer's presence, underscoring their magnificence, power, and ever-present influence as a force to be reckoned with. Overall, "Helios" by Antilles invites listeners to engage with complex themes of divinity, mortality, and the enduring impact of power and identity throughout history and beyond.
