Absolutely. I'm repeating a comment of mine on this page because you might read this in your mail or something: Of all the New Worlds, Solti's is by far
the most magnificent. Oh, magnificent isn't the word. We know what
Beethoven said... "Music should strike fire in the heart of man..."
Dvorak's 9th symphony doesn't strike fire in your heart: It consumes it
with fires straight from hell. A man's heart has no hope here: We must
submit! These sounds are so terrifying, so grotesquely powerful, so
obscenely grand, we can't believe they're human. This first movement --
especially the way Solti does it -- is too hard to digest, to come to
terms with. It'll take a lifetime.

I am so very fortunate to have performed as a professional violist and played all of his symphonies.

1:57 is the famous part, and it gets repeated 4 times throughout the piece

@Im Shreksy What kind of assignment you have pertaining to this musical piece?

Im Shreksy

@Russell Teapot I take musical theory, so its an analytical essay on the music from this time.

Russell Teapot

@Im Shreksy I'll probably be douchy, but I'll ask regardless: you take musical theory, and don't have 12 minutes to listen to the whole piece? Or the whole symphony for that matter? Then what can you write about?

I love this symphony. Solti conducts it magnificently!

I agree. The best version in my humble opinion
