He entered onto the scene in the early 1990s, being the first rural bachatero to reach a mainstream audience with his hit "Voy pa'lla", shortly after Blas Durán had appropriated the electric guitar for the genre. Santos' adoption of soft romantic lyrics was more socially accepted than the bawdy cabaret style common to bachata before him, and he shortly became the genre's leading artist, helping move bachata into the Caribbean Latino mainstream.
Antony Santos is currently the best paid bachatero in the Dominican Republic. He has already signed the contract to offer a concert in Puerto Rico at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, a venue with a seating capacity of 10,000 people. This concert was on May 12, 2007 and he's said to have been paid an unprecedented US$90,000 for this one presentation alone.

Antony Santos...
yo tengo problemas con mi morenita, yo tengo problemas con mi morenita, no me abres la puerta cuando esta guapita x2.
por que llego tarde a nuestra casita x2...
mami no seas mala abreme la puerta y no grite mucho que el niño despierta x2
The song "Abreme La Puerta" by Antony Santos is an emotional plea from the singer to his partner to let him in despite their conflicts. He acknowledges that he has problems with his "morenita" or "little brown one," and that she doesn't open the door for him when she is looking attractive. He attributes this to his habit of arriving late to their home. He asks her not to be harsh with him and to not yell too much because their child is sleeping. Antony Santos's voice is full of passion and urgency as he begs for his partner to let him in and reconcile with him.
One can imagine the singer standing outside their home, feeling remorseful and desiring to make things right with his partner. He seems vulnerable and sincere in his plea, as he acknowledges his faults and aims to make amends. The repetition of the plea in the chorus emphasizes the importance of communication and forgiveness in a relationship. The song's emotional appeal will likely resonate with listeners who have experienced similar issues in their own relationships.
