A self-taught guitarist and song writer, Anuhea began showcasing her talents while boarding at Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu. ''I started writing songs... I was discovering my talent and passion while discovering how to deal with emotions every teenager has to go through." Anuhea excelled in the spotlight. She was the head anchor for the daily campus-wide news, hosted a variety of TV shows for OCI6, and acted in school musicals.
After attending film school in Orange County for a year, Anuhea realized music was more her calling. She returned to the islands and immediately got into the scene, performing at local coffee shops which turned into paid restaurant gigs. Anuhea's skills improved with every gig, and successes came steadily and deservedly. She took the initiative to market herself as a musician, and until this point has acted as her own manager, booking agent, and music producer and distributor. She took recordings from a live taping for a public radio station and turned them into her 22-track demo CD "Rough Cuts" which she sells "out of her trunk" and through her MySpace page to fans across the globe.
After years of graciously turning down offers from local labels, Anuhea decided to sign with indie music label OneHawaii Music LLC. Co-founded by former Atlantic Records rep, Warren Wyatt and her aunty Nalani of Na Leo Pilimehana, OneHawaii is poised to get Anuhea heard, with major distribution through Koch Entertainment. In 2009, she released her self-titled debut album.
The future is bright for this Maui songbird. Anuhea's determination, passion, optimism and raw talent are the foundations for the success that is to come. "I just feel lucky that I've found my dream and am able to pursue it... My main goal as a music-maker is to help people find theirs, whatever it may be."

Ooh ooh oh ooh
If I was to tell you just how much I need you, would you come tonight
Would you not believe me cuz a love that easy never turns out right
I'm trying to change the rules, you deserve something good in your life
We've waited for far too long so come get your blessings tonight baby
Wont you come over love, so I can show you love
So many search to find, a love that's good as mine
But I don't wanna waste your time so bring it all to me baby
Ooh ooh oh ooh
Ooh ooh oh ooh
Baby let me teach you, give you love instruction, show you what I know
Need to take it easy, ain't no need rush now, baby nice and slow
All this love I can give to you, I expect just a bit in return
You don't have to be perfect love as long as you're willing to learn baby
Wont you come over love, so I can show you love
Promise I got enough to give you all that you need baby
So many search to find, love that is good as mine
I don't wanna waste your time so bring it all to me baby
Ooh ooh oh ooh
Ooh ooh oh ooh
Turn out the lights, give you all of my love tonight
Lets do what lover do, oh I'm ready for you
I don't wanna waste my time
So don't make me beg tonight
Don't keep me waiting for love
Wont you come over love
Come over love
I'll show you love, show you
Promise I got enough to give you all that you need baby
So many search to find, a love that is good as mine
I don't wanna waste your time, so bring it all to me yeah
Ooh ooh oh ooh
Bring it all to me yeah
Ooh ooh oh ooh
Boy you know I love (I love) I love (I love) I Love (I love) I love

The lyrics of Anuhea's song "Crown Royal" speak to the desire for a genuine, fulfilling love. The singer starts off by expressing how much she needs the person that she's singing to, but recognizes that a love that comes easily often doesn't work out. She's willing to change things and break the traditional rules for this person because they deserve something good in their life. The singer invites this person to come over so that she can show them love, promising that she has enough love to give them everything they need. She sings that many people have searched for a love as good as hers, but she doesn't want to waste their time - they should bring everything to her.
The second verse continues along the same theme. The singer wants to teach the person she loves about love, to give them love instruction and show them what she knows. She urges them to take it easy and go nice and slow, to not rush things. The singer acknowledges that love is give and take - she's willing to give all of her love to this person, and she expects a little in return. The chorus repeats, with the singer now using the imperative "Don't keep me waiting for love" and "Don't make me beg tonight."
Interestingly, the lyrics to "Crown Royal" shift perspectives throughout the song. At times, the singer sings as if to a lover who is already present or in her life, such as in the chorus with the repeated "wont you come over love." Other times, she sings as if talking to an abstract person, inviting someone to come get their blessings tonight. This fluidity in perspective could speak to the universal desire for love and connection, and the willingness to be open to it from any direction.
