Before their unfortunate demise, Apocalypse Hoboken toured with the likes of The Vandals, The Ataris, Ten Foot Pole, Less Than Jake, Swingin' Utters, Agent Orange, Guttermouth, Strung Out, Bigwig, Suicide Machines, At the Drive In, Murder City Devils, and appeared on West Coast dates of the Warped Tour.
Their last show in 2003 sold out Chicago's Metro, and though they haven't recorded a shred of new music in five years, demand for their live act has never been greater. A reunion at the Abbey Pub with all-original members promises to be a highlight of 2006.

The Family Strong
Apocalypse Hoboken Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
America the Beautiful or so they say
1999 will be the best New Year's ever and Prince will be a rich man again
You and I holding hands walking towards a darkened sun
The family's strong so nothing's wrong a generation of closed eyes
Don't get me wrong I like it here it's just society I despise
I'll bring you down to the prehistoric level and I'm sad to say I'm just a man
So life's a bitch yeah we know that
Your getting head in a parking lot full of sweat
Wife's home in bed thinking of other men
Smoking crack in the bathroom of your bosses office
Kids ditching school dressing up in mom's closet
Looks like god has forgotten you
The plans you've made have all fallen through,
Its your thirteenth try at suicide
The gift of life is the biggest lie
The lyrics of Apocalypse Hoboken's song, "The Family Strong," depict a world where technology and societal values have caused chaos and despair. The opening line, "They dropped the bomb the other day," suggests a sense of fatalism and resignation to the destruction caused by society's reliance on technology. The line, "America the Beautiful or so they say," implies a sense of skepticism towards the idea of a perfect society.
The singer goes on to mention the year 1999, a time of great anticipation as people prepared for a new millennium. However, despite the optimism of the time, the lyrics suggest that people are still unhappy despite their technological advances; "So life's a bitch yeah we know that, our world's nothing more than a grain of sand."
The song touches on themes of infidelity, drug abuse, and suicide, representing the dark underbelly of modern society. However, the chorus of the song, "The family's strong so nothing's wrong, a generation of closed eyes," implies that despite the chaos and disillusionment, family remains a source of strength and hope for those who are struggling to find meaning in their lives.
