Hope Vol.2
Apocalyptica Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hope is beauty,
Personified,
At her feet, the world,
Hypnotized.

A million flashes,
A million smiles,
And on the catwalk,
She floats in style

But in this heart of darkness
Our hope lies lost and torn,
All fame like love is fleeting
When there's no hope anymore

Pain and glory,
Hand in hand,
A sacrifice,
The highest price,

Like the poison in her arm
Like a whisper she was gone...
Like when angels fall.

And in this heart of darkness
All hope lies on the floor,
All love like fame is fleeting
When there's no hope anymore

Like the poison in her arm
Like a whisper, she was gone
Like an angel,
And Angels fall

Like the poison in her arm
Like a whisper, she was gone
Like an angel,
And Angels fall

Like the poison in her arm
Like a whisper, she was gone

Like an angel,
And Angels fall

Overall Meaning

The song "Hope Vol. 2" by Apocalyptica is a powerful reflection on the fleeting nature of hope and the pain that often accompanies it. The lyrics describe a woman who embodies hope and beauty, captivating the world with her style and grace. However, despite the brightness and positivity she brings, the song suggests that hope is often lost and torn in the darkness of the world.

The lyrics make reference to the price of hope and the reality that it often comes at a high cost. The sacrifice that is required for hope to prevail is likened to the poison in the woman's arm, suggesting that sometimes the very thing that brings hope can also bring pain and destruction. The line "like when angels fall" serves as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of hope, as even those who seem invincible and full of light can fall and lose their hope in the face of darkness.

In summary, "Hope Vol. 2" is a powerful and poignant reflection on the transience of hope, and the pain and sacrifice required for it to endure. The song serves as a warning that even the brightest lights can be extinguished, and that hope must be nurtured and protected if it is to survive.

Or you could have just listened to and shared "Hope" (Vol. 1), which is this exact same piece, no vocals.. which is what you actually did, don't lie, if you would have stripped the vocals from Hope 2, this would be 4 minutes long, instead, it's just as long as "Hope" (Vol. 1), how weird! stripping the vocals from a song makes it shorter apparently!..
