The song thematizes child-abuse through clerics. Corey Taylor sings from the perspective of a man who has been abused by a priest when he was a child and now confronts his torturer.
The song was co-written by Filter guitarist and composer Geno Lenardo and vocalist Johnny Andrews.
Apocalyptica and Corey Talor haven't perform the song together in concert. At concert one cello will play the melody of song. Taylor has said that he would be happy to perform song together in a concert with Apocalyptica.

Dirty little lies
Say your prayers and comb your hair
Save your soul tonight
Drift among the faithful
Bury your desires
Aberrations fill your head
And I am
Do you remember me?
The kid I used to be?
Do you remember me?
When your world comes crashing down
I want to be there
If God is looking down on me
I'm not Jesus
Jesus wasn't there
You confess it all away
But it's only shit to me
If God is looking down on me
I'm not Jesus
I will not forgive
No I won't
No I won't
I've thought you were a good man
I've thought you talked to God
You Hippocratic, messianic, child abusing, turned satanic
Do you remember me?
Do you remember me?
The kid I used to be?
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
When your own world comes undone
Let me be the one to say
(If God is looking down on me)
I'm not Jesus
You can't run away
And the innocence you spoil
Found a way to live
If God is looking down on me
I'm not Jesus
I will not forgive
I will not forgive
I won't be whatever you want to
I will not forgive
I won't be whatever you want to
Do you remember me?
The kid I used to be?
Not the same as I used to be
Oh, do you remember me?
No
When your world comes crashing down
I want to be there
If God is looking down on me
I'm not Jesus
Jesus wasn't there
You confess it all away
But it only shit to me
If God is looking down on me
I'm not Jesus
I will not
I'm not Jesus
I will not forgive
Oh, I will not forgive, yeah yeah
No, I will not forgive
The lyrics to Apocalyptica's song "I'm Not Jesus" are filled with anger and a sense of betrayal. The song is a scathing criticism of religious leaders who abuse their power and exploit vulnerable children. The "dirty little secret" and "dirty little lies" refer to the abuse that has been hidden away in the church for far too long. The lyrics urge the listener to "save your soul tonight" by confessing their sins and seeking redemption, but also to recognize that simply confessing does not absolve the abuser of their heinous actions.
The song goes on to implore those in power to remember the innocent child that they used to be and to reflect on the damage that they are doing to future generations. The singer insists that he is not Jesus and will not forgive their abuse, regardless of their attempts to confess and seek absolution. The lyrics end on a defiant note, with the singer stating that he will not be whatever the abuser wants him to be and that he will not forgive them.
Overall, the song is a powerful condemnation of the abuse that has been rampant in the church for decades. It urges listeners to recognize the harm that has been done and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

I listen to this all of the time. The feeling is just very relatable.
@theperfectbeing
Given Corey's recent coming out about his sexual abuse when he was a child at the hands of someone older he trusted, this really gets an extra punch to it in terms of understanding his passion and rage.
This song has gotten better with time but for all the "wrong" reasons.

I echo his feelings. When your own parents believe the abuser and your left alone with your pain, I feel every cord of this song.
