Seemann
Apocalyptica Lyrics

So ganz allein treibst du davon
Wer hält deine Hand
Wenn es dich nach unten zieht
Wo willst du hin
Komm in mein Boot
Komm in mein Boot
Die Sehnsucht wird der Steuermann
Komm in mein Boot
Die Zeit steht still
Und mir ist kalt, kalt, kalt, kalt
The lyrics to Apocalyptica's song Seemann are about a person who is lost and alone, drifting aimlessly on the cold and endless sea. The singer of the song offers the person passage on their boat, providing a sense of safety and security as they navigate the stormy waters. The lyrics convey a sense of sadness and desperation – the person is crying, and the imagery of the song paints a picture of a desolate, lonely landscape. However, there is also a glimmer of hope in the lyrics – the singer is offering the person a way out, a chance to escape the darkness and find a sense of belonging.
The chorus of the song ("Komm in mein Boot, die Sehnsucht wird der Steuermann") is particularly poignant, as it speaks to the longing for connection and the desire for someone to guide and anchor us during difficult times. The phrase "die Sehnsucht wird der Steuermann" translates to "longing becomes the helmsman," suggesting that our yearning for connection and belonging can guide us towards safety and security.
Overall, the lyrics to Seemann are a powerful portrayal of loneliness, isolation, and the desire for connection. The stormy sea and desolate landscape serve as powerful metaphors for the emotional landscape of the human experience, reminding us of the importance of seeking connection and finding our own "helmsman" to guide us through the storms of life.
