Taught the basics of playing acoustic guitar briefly by the age of ten, Sean would later go on to nurture his impatience, spending days after teaching himself piano upon a Casio, thus leading towards his introduction into sequencing and music production. Recordings would follow by fourteen, using only a mic and his guitar until early his junior year of high school when he was given his first mac and the art of composing using MIDI.
His alias came to be, initially, as a title given to him by his father, an avid lover of Greek Mythology who was simply looking for a way for his son to stay anonymous within a growing world wide web until he was old enough to safely place his name out there. Apollo, being variously recognized as a god of most things, including truth, music, poetry, and the arts, soon came to be the root of such a concept.
In late fall of 2007, Sean released his first multi-track album entitled, Masquerade of Aspersions. Merely a compilation of songs he put together amidst the beginnings of his digital music creations, he allowed his friends and family to listen in for more amusement than anything. It was officially released on October 28th and posted for download on his Myspace. Two years later, Sean went on to announce plans for the release of his upcoming full-length album, excited for the new sound and to showcase much of what he's learned in the years since the last. The album is destined to be released in 2010.
Collaborations led him into the field of vocal work for others, teaming up with artists such as Nitrous Oxide, Amurai, Pole Folder in co-writing singles under their respected names. Broken Toy Airplanes (now known as, "Sleepyhead") and A Sunset Diary had also paired up with Apollo's Child to house his vocals within some of their own tracks, available on their respected websites.
Newspapers and magazines have featured Sean in various published works, admiring him for his ability to tame a crowd of people at such a young age, and dubbed, 'a young crowd-pleaser' by the Dallas Morning News in 2008. Some of his most influential musicians consist of Imogen Heap, Björk, Frou Frou and the production work of Guy Sigsworth, IAMX, Above and Beyond, Fischerspooner, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode and still many, many more.
Mentioned in a blog posted late 2009, "Apollo's Child" is no more. Sean states that it, 'was the mark of [his] beginning, musically, and will be performing under Sean Ryan from now on.' He, along with many of his listeners, look forward to the future, embracing this opportunity for growth within his music and the numerous releases to come.
In the darkness
Apollo's Child Lyrics

A lost world slowly turning, absorbing light
Cold ties to hearts that crash,
Like tides in a sea of lies
Our hope falls through, an empty sky,
Where people stare, subtracting time
To still feel good, though it won't feel right,
In the darkness, we fly, through the night,
On the wings of angels, we'll fly
Upon eyes, they'll glow,
Closed doors, a world below
Soft speech, it saves us all,
Echos a timeless hero
Aloft in winters shadows, 'neath years of snow,
Our hearts, they'll intertwine,
This love, I don't want too feel,
Far from real, you just have to believe,
And I'll fly you home tonight
In the darkness, we fly, through the night,
On the wings of angels, we'll fly
As stars guide, our hearts, through the night,
I know I will live on, and never die
Just think about it, when you say those lies to me,
I'm not that simple minded
And I'd hoped you would try, to make some since now,
Talk now, live while you're alive
In the darkness, we fly, through the night,
On the wings of angels we'll fly
As stars guide, our hearts, through the night,
I know I will live on, and never die
