The song "Hologram" by April Ethereal tells the story of a man who is slowly approaching the end of his life, without even realizing it. He is brought to the edge of a precipice, where he begins to recognize the end is near. However, in the midst of this, he comes across a woman who becomes his beginning. She gives him a new sense of life, purpose, and meaning, though she also brings about his eventual death. This woman is someone he sees as the entire world, but in the end, it turns out that she is only a hologram.
The lyrics suggest that the man is entranced by the woman, and he sees her as everything. However, as he begins to die, he realizes that nothing about her was ever true. He looked at her only through his eyes, projecting onto her what he wanted to see. Now, as he stands facing his own death, he realizes that the woman who once gave him life was, in fact, not even real.
Overall, "Hologram" is a powerful song about the struggle to find meaning and purpose in life, and how sometimes, we can be blinded by what we want to believe. It also speaks to the harsh reality that sometimes, the things we think are real turn out to be nothing more than illusions.
