<… Read Full Bio ↴There are two bands by this name, one from Indiana and one from Texas.
A) This is the band that Richard Edwards was in before the days of Margot and the Nuclear So & So's. The band reigns from the Muncie, Indiana area and consisted of Richard Edwards, Ashley White, Dave Adamson and others. The band was together from 2002-2004. The group put out an album on Mariel Records in 2003.
Both band names are related to the movie "The Royal Tenenbaums," oddly enough. If you are a fan of Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, check them out. You can even download the entire "When I was an Astronaut" album from musicalfamilytree.com for FREE! paperkittennightmare.com is the message boards for Margot, but Archer Avenue is discusssed often there also. Information on this band is somewhat difficult to find, and the album is no longer in print. They gained popularity from the local press and more recently from fans of Margot looking for more material from Richard. He is a highly acclaimed songwriter in the Indianapolis area that is now gaining national exposure with Margot and their latest release, "The Dust of Retreat."
B)ARCHER AVENUE is a Texas Rock n' Roll Band that formed in the San Antonio music scene, recording their first EP "Left of the Dial" after only a few days playing together in late 2003. The band has recently generated some buzz after being discovered by Grammy Award Winning Producer Pete Anderson at a showcase in El Paso, TX.
We Watched the Headlights, We Watched the Stars was recorded at the DogBone Studios in Burbank, CA and features Grammy Award Winning Producer Pete Anderson as Executive Producer as well as industry veterans Tony Rambo as Producer/ Engineer and Sally Browder on Editing.

Kim
Archer Avenue Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
âCause our lifetime ain't that long
Thursday night is cold
And NBC can't fill the void
Kimberly, the moon is shining bright
I have wanted you all of my life
Kimberly, I'm just a lonely boy
So you like your job
Walking dogs around New York
I could give you more
Than you ever had in store
Kimberly, the moon is shining bright
I have wanted you all of my life
Kimberly, I'm just a lonely boy
All I ever wanted to know you
What is it that makes you think to start?
Making plans to go and break my heart
Kimberly, forever more, I'm yours
All it takes to please me is your smile
The song "Kim" by Archer Avenue is a romantic ballad sung from the perspective of someone yearning for the affection of a woman named Kimberly. The lyrics convey a sense of longing and loneliness, as the singer pleads for Kimberly to take a chance on him, promising to give her more than she's ever had before. The chorus repeats the name "Kimberly" and expresses how the singer has wanted her his whole life and that all he ever wanted was to know her.
The song speaks to the universal human desire to connect with someone on a deeper level and to be loved in return. The lyrics also suggest a certain level of vulnerability and insecurity on the part of the singer, as he questions whether Kimberly will break his heart. The use of the moon imagery and a Thursday night being cold adds to the atmosphere of loneliness and desperation that permeates the song.
Overall, "Kim" is a heartfelt and sincere love song that lingers with the listener long after it's over.
