1. Arco are a British band noted for unusually slow, quiet, poetic music: a gig review in national newspaper The Guardian suggested "an hour in arco's company is the aural equivalent of a day in a flotation tank". Similarly, a review in Q, a UK monthly music magazine, described first album Coming To Terms as "the aural equivalent of a human being pausing for thought as the world speeds on around".
2. Arco (Antonio Arco) is the former singer from the Spanish band "El Puchero del Hortelano". Starting his solo career in 2016 with the release of his album "Uno", he's been doing music on his own until this day with other albums such as "Abril" (2018) and "100 Veces" (2020).
3. Formed in 2008 by Neil Luck, ARCO is a group of composers, artists and (mainly) string players from a range of musical and artistic disciplines and backgrounds. The group explores experimental approaches to non-standard notation and live performance practice as a starting point for creating bespoke, collaborative music theatre events characterised by an uncompromisingly avant-garde aesthetic, and radical mix of influences from contemporary classical music, magick rituals, concrete poetry, free improvisation, slapstick comedy, Kabuki theatre and Broadway show tunes
Grey
Arco Lyrics

You know you're wrong
When everyone embraces you
You don't belong
Nothing these days
Means what it says
Everything's gone grey
Where love comes from
Only takes three little words
To know it's gone
Nothing these days
Means what it says
Everything's gone grey
If you don't want to know the score
Then just turn away
Back to the world where papers burn
And words decay
Nothing these days
Means what it says
Everything's gone grey
The song "Grey" by Arco is rich in interpretation that goes beyond its lyrics' surface meaning. It speaks about the downside of conformity and the importance of seeking one's path, even when it means going against the norm. The first two lines of the song, "When everyone agrees with you, you know you're wrong, when everyone embraces you, you don't belong," convey the paradox of seeking acceptance from others. The singer suggests that being in agreement with everyone is a sign that one is deviating from their path and that true belonging comes from being true to oneself.
The lines "Nothing these days means what it says, everything's gone grey" speak to the lack of truth and authenticity in today's society. It highlights the significant role that language plays in shaping our perception of reality, and the erosion of trust in the things that we're told.
Furthermore, the lyrics go on to suggest that it takes a lifetime to learn about life and love, and it only takes three words to know love is gone. This line shows the power and depth of love and how it can change in an instant. The overall message of the song is a reminder to stay true to oneself and seek truth and authenticity in a world that is increasingly difficult to navigate.
