(1) Ardent is a mixture of soaring guitar lines, catchy lyrics and powerful progressions creating a style that they have only been able to pin down to something called “rock & roll”. They began playing years ago in their former hometown of Redding, California. As the years went by with many shows and festivals, their "sound" was develp[ed and became such an amazing mix of tone and creativity. That sound took them to the studio with Jeremy Edwardson of The Myraid. He recorded and produced the EP titled “Sounds”. With his help and many others, they have been able to share the stage with many amazing bands such as; Angels & Airwaves (Interscope Records), Number One Gun (Tooth and Nail Records), Jonathan Jones of "We Shot The Moon"(The Militia Group), The Myriad (Koch Records), Transistor Radio (Up at Night Records), The Higher (Epitaph Records) and many more. They have now relocated to Boise, Idaho. Life tends to set people in places for reasons, and they feel that being here is one of those times, especially with the growing fan base in Boise to add to their California base.
(2) Ardent is the previous name of the Missouri-based metalcore group, Ever Eden. They put out an album in 2014 named The Veil.
(3) ARDENT is the name of a TikTok rapper/musician.
(4) Previous name of DC Strut. From Oneida, New York, USA. As Ardent, they were a regional finalist in Sroh's SuperStar Talent Search 1985 with the song FALLIN' OVER THE EDGE.

The first few lines of Ardent's song, "The Veil," set the tone for the rest of the song as the lyrics describe an almost apocalyptic scene, "The Earth Groans (There's Something It Seems To Know). Sky Grows Black (And I Can Feel It In My Bones). A Pulsing Rhythm (In The Stone Beneath My Feet)." These lyrics suggest that something terrible is happening, and the earth is responding to it with an almost sentient knowledge. The "pulsing rhythm" in the earth's stones beneath the singer's feet suggests that there is a force which is making its presence known.
Then the lyrics take a change in direction, and the singer describes a gathering of people on a hill outside of the city. The singer can feel that something significant is about to happen, but all they can see is the thirty feet of linen towering over them. The veil separating the Holy of Holies in the temple of Jerusalem is thirty feet high, and this reference suggests that the singer is experiencing a profound spiritual moment, but they are not yet privy to the fullness of revelation.
The final line of the song begins with a quotation from the Gospel of John. "Destroy this place, and I will rebuild it in three days!" This reference to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus suggests that the singer is experiencing a moment of epiphany. They feel unworthy of being in the presence of God, but through Christ's sacrifice, they and all of humanity become the temple. The rest of the song is a declaration of faith and hope in the resurrection, where believers will shed their dirty clothes and be caught up in the Son.
