Soul Mate #9
Arena Tina Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Soul sate number nine,
You say that I'm the only one,
But I know it's just a lie.

Soul mate number nine,
You're living in a fantasy
In your mind.
You live in a made-up world,
You think that I don't see,
It's a world of make-believe.

You spin a tangled web,
Just like a fairy tale
It's all in your head.

You promised me the world,
You promise me the sun,
You promise me heaven,
That you're gonna turn it 'round.

Soul mate number nine,
You say that I'm the only one,
But I know it's just a lie.

Soul mate number nine
You're living in a fantasy
In your mind.

Soul mate number nine.

You say you're a grown-up man,
You've got it in control,
Your pockets lined in gold.

That's not what I need from you,
Just remember what you say,
It's only what you do.

You look into my eyes,
You try to hypnotise,
To say that it's forever,
But forever means goodbye.

Soul mate number nine.
Say that I'm the only one,
But I know that's just a lie.

Soul mate number nine,
You're living in a fantasy
In your mind.

Soul mate number nine.
I would have loved you
If you'd just be who you are.

If you just say that you want me.
Let the feeling feel so real,
I feel you coming from the heart.

Soul mate number nine,
Say that I'm the only one,
But I know that's just a lie.

Soul mate number nine,

You're living in a fantasy
In your mind.

It's refreshing to see a more 'cheerful' tune from Tina Arena after so many melodramatic and soulful tunes from her 'Burn' days. She is truly a pop queen in her own right, maybe underrated compared to those top vocalists like Celine or Mariah. But she can hold her own and she has her own style.

@Support4MySingers

The second single was a disco track called Dare You To Be Happy. Check it out.

@PassionJo777

Lol check out "I want your body " way back after young talent time days. Whoa great song but wow she copped a lot of crap due to how sexy she is

J'adore Tina Arena grande artiste

@TheMorningtrain

How cool to hear her sing a pop dance kind of tune that all they melodramatic stuff. Sometimes we have to go all the way back to YTT to find her singing something upbeat

@Support4MySingers

Her second single from this album is also a disco track, itโ€™s called โ€œDare you to be happyโ€. Check it out!
