Breathin'
Ariana Grande Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Some days, things just take way too much of my energy
I look up and the whole room's spinning
You take my cares away
I can so overcomplicate, people tell me to medicate

Feel my blood runnin', swear the sky's fallin'
How do I know if this shit's fabricated?
Time goes by and I can't control my mind
Don't know what else to try, but you tell me every time

Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'
And oh, I gotta keep, keep on breathin'
Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'
And oh, I gotta keep, keep on breathin'

Sometimes it's hard to find, find my way up into the clouds
Tune it out, they can be so loud
You remind me of a time when things weren't so complicated
All I need is to see your face

Feel my blood runnin', swear the sky's fallin'
How do I know if this shit's fabricated, oh?
Time goes by and I can't control my mind
Don't know what else to try, but you tell me every time

Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'
And oh, I gotta keep, I keep on breathin'
Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'
And oh, I gotta keep, I keep on breathin', mmm, yeah

My, my air
My, my air
My, my air, my air
My, my air

My, my air
My, my air, yeah

Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'
And oh, I gotta keep, I keep on breathin'
Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'
And oh, I gotta keep, I keep on breathin', mmm, yeah

Feel my blood runnin', swear the sky's fallin'
I keep on breathin'
Time goes by and I can't control my mind
I keep on breathin', mmm, yeah

Overall Meaning

The song "breathin" by Ariana Grande is a powerful anthem about anxiety and perseverance. It describes the feeling of being overwhelmed and out of control and the importance of taking deep breaths and pushing through. The opening lines of the song capture this feeling perfectly: "Some days, things just take way too much of my energy, I look up and the whole room's spinning." This feeling of being dizzy and drained is one that many people with anxiety can relate to.

The song goes on to describe the struggle to find a sense of control when everything seems to be spinning out of control. Grande sings about the temptation to medicate as a way to cope with anxiety and the frustration of not knowing what is real and what is just in her head. Despite these challenges, she turns to the one constant in her life: her breath. She repeats the lyrics "Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin'" as a mantra to remind herself to stay present and grounded.

The chorus of the song is uplifting and motivational. Grande sings about the need to keep going even when it feels impossible. She encourages listeners to keep breathing as a way to stay connected to the moment and find strength in the present. The song is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-care and finding healthy ways to cope with anxiety.

to all the haters saying "ariana get over it, you're so sensitive"

ok, but did u know:
1. when ariana was 8 years old, her parents got a divorce
2. she was bullied in school
3. her grandpa died of cancer after she dropped her 2nd album
4. over 20 people died at her concert when there was a suicide bombing, and many many more severely injured. ariana was getting blamed for this even though she had nothing to do with it.
5. her ex aka her best friend still mac miller had an accidental overdose and died while they were still very in touch
6. she broke of an engagement with pete because she still loved mac. in ghostin, she sang "though i wish he were here instead/don't want that living in your head/he just comes to visit me/when i'm dreaming every now and then"
7. and not to mention, she is diagnosed with ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder) and has severe anxiety
8. she gets hate everyday
but do you still see her giving up? no. she is one of the strongest most brave women i have ever seen. yeah, some people have been through s*** that u don't know about. but she still keeps breathing. so think twice before calling someone sensitive
