L’estat
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Madame Morse Estate
Stood five hundred years
Painted black by love
Bathed in widows' tears

She had a maid
The maid remained to tend her
She tied and drowned her
When she caught her in bed with her gardener

But she loves him (yeah yeah)
She loves him (yeah yeah)
And how she loves that estate

Estate, estate...

She wouldn't concede out of vanity that
Her servant would ever
Find her love

Her reflection would cry
Down in the lake where she threw the
Corpse for all time

Oh, madame, sad is this estate
Love blew the roof of your estate

Madame, mad mad love
Madame, cheer up!

Madame Morse Estate
Fell one summer's day
Rolling down to the water
Where the madams made pants
To her mother, she loves her

She loves her
Oh, and how she loves her (yeah yeah)
And how she loves that estate

She wouldn't concede out of vanity that
Her servant would ever
Find her love

Her reflection would cry
Down in the lake where she threw the
Corpse for all time

Oh, madame, sad is this estate
Love blew the roof of your estate

Madame, mad mad love
Madame, mad mad love

Madame, or love that's mad?
Cheer up!

Overall Meaning

The first verse of the song talks about Madame Morse Estate which has been standing for 500 years and painted black with love, indicating that it has a dark history. The use of the phrase "bathed in widows' tears" adds to the sense of tragedy and sadness that surrounds the estate. The second verse tells the story of a maid who worked for Madame Morse Estate and was caught in bed with her gardener. Madame Morse, in a fit of rage, ties and drowns the maid. But despite this, Madame Morse still loves the estate and remains attached to it.

The chorus emphasizes Madame Morse's love for the estate despite the tragedy that has taken place there. The repetition of the phrase "she loves him" reinforces Madame Morse's attachment to the estate and could also be interpreted as her love for the gardener. The third verse describes how Madame Morse wouldn't admit that the maid, her servant, might find love too. Her vanity here shows, and her decision to drown her maid is a testament to her cruelty. The verse ends with the image of Madame seeing her reflection in the lake and the reminder that she threw the corpse there.

The final chorus repeats the same lines as the previous ones but adds a new line – "Madame or love that's mad?" which can be interpreted as a question posed to Madame Morse about her state of mind and motivations.

@spunkysland

found this video just by looking in the search bar just looking around and then this video pop-ups, at first looking at it wonder what it was, after clicking it a few sec later screen freezes (after trying to reload the video it would freeze it but only on this night video only as if YouTube was having a hard time trying to load it in) then after a min or 2 it loads in being able to look at the comments, finding nothing but blackness, the whole video and not what the thumbnail showed, no description, comments are in different languages, and looking through the video timeline I can see the thumbnail parts it show but, click to that part still all blackness so not sure as well what this video even is about.

also this channel/he has only 2 videos (Night) and (DAY) so day is the same thing as this video is but this time when I click it, it doesn't freeze my screen and loads it as a normal video for some reason not sure why this video only and not the other one but may never know for sure.

looking at the comments not sure what some of them are even say but, with the help of google translate, the comments are not even related to the video or even talking, all they talk about is there life and just don't even talk about the video at all as said, (one talks about how they found out a doctor to treat there HIV) while another (talks about there stream) etc. and looking at the about page there's nothing it's just blank (there's nothing) so both night and DAY videos are a mystery.

so no-one has the answer as to what this video is for or what it even is supposed to be or what?
but someone might find out what it really is.

@gregboehm5827

This loaded immediatly for but yeah its nothing blsck screen that goes on for 5hrs and some odd minutes i believe just glanced at length. I accidentally clicked on this video cause im on my cell phone but i bet the long wait and pr freezing is due to how long video is. Not sure what the guy who replied to you meany by deep crap and recieved 7 likes umm ok I have a guess but thats about it. My guess to whats with this video is that it plays frequencies that either only certain people can hear or nobody can hear at all that are an attempt to manipulate persons tthoughts or behavior. An example is there is a frequency tone that people only under the age of 27 can hear and I playec it and I couldnt hear nothing but I was 35 at the time so i shouldnt so i got my son age 15 to come in the room and i turned volume up hit play and he was like wtf stop that I did and said what did you hear and he described loud annoying sound and he had no clue what i was doing. So anyways you should be aware of things like this soon as I noticed nothing was playing which was almost 10 seconds I hit stop so fast just because you or I have no clue what we are making ourselves susceptible to and just fyi maybe or maybe your not aware there are hidden things in music songs that you wont know unless you play the song backwards its called back masking your subconscious is aware of it some people are more influenced by this than others but more importantly by you singing the song out loud then you could be making something manifest or speaking it into existence so to speak if that is if something were placed into that song such as a spell or what have you. These are just a few things one should be aware of amongst many others. I learned awhile back of a secret society i wont say their name but they the ones in it would not read the news paper and absolutely wouldnt watch t.v. because they knew of certain things placed in paper and on t.v. that you would never know was there that influenced people in many different ways, sometimes harmless and sometimes sinister but nothing to your benefit. They were smart enough to realize with what little they knew tjen only imagine what they dont know and so they guarded what they read or watched very carefully but this day and age now its no different for what you listen to is the point. Take care hope this helps and sparks an interest to learn more look into it yourself.
