Married to Alisa Daniels, July 2002 - they divorced in 2005. He lived with Geneva Jacuzzi for seven years until early 2011.
He has since caught the attention of various media sources, especially in the Los Angeles area. As most of his albums are self-made, many of them have never been heard by fans. The only albums which have been commercially released come from his "Haunted Graffiti" series and are thus the best known.
Pink produces and plays almost all of his own music, and is noted for creating drum sounds using primarily his mouth, and sometimes his armpits. His home recording technique gives his music a very lo-fi sound, to the point where new listeners may mistake the era of his music.
Pink cites R. Stevie Moore--friend, mentor, and "father of home recording"--as one of his major influences. He is sometimes associated with the New Weird America movement, and could also be considered an embodiment of 'The New Sincerity'. Pink boasts a cult following and endorsements from more widely known artists such as fellow Paw Tracks artists Animal Collective.
Aside from his music, Pink also makes semi-abstract and surreal grotesque drawings, which can be purchased from his unofficial website, ARIEL PINK haunted house, for a hefty price.
Another Weekend
Ariel Pink Lyrics

I'm either too shy or humble
Another weekend out of my life
Is gonna get me into trouble
Feel a body, warm and close behind me
I turn around, but you are not there
Though I fail to ignore this resignation
Every day, about five in the evening
I think of all that went wrong
We were once so happy together
But not for long
To log me in and out of my life
I'm either too shy or humble
Another weekend out of my life
Is gonna get me into trouble
Another weekend out of my life
And I can shake off my worries
Another weekend I can't rewind
Another day not working for me
Feel a body floating all around me
I turn around, but you are not there
Though I fail to ignore this resignation
You're standing there
Every day, about five in the evening
I think of all that went wrong
We were once so happy together
But not for long
To log me in and out of my life
Another weekend out of my life
Another weekend out of my life
I'm either too shy or humble
Another weekend I can't rewind
Is gonna get me into trouble
Out of my life
Out of my life
The lyrics to Ariel Pink's song "Another Weekend" speak to the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of unfulfilling, repetitive weekends. The singer laments another weekend passing by, feeling too shy or humble to break out of their routine and make meaningful connections with others. They long for someone to be close to them, but feel a sense of resignation and acceptance that they are alone. The lyrics also touch on feelings of regret for a past relationship that was once happy, but ended abruptly.
The repeated phrase "another weekend out of my life" highlights the song's themes of stagnation and the passage of time. The singer seems to feel stuck in their current situation, unable to escape the cycle of disappointing weekends. The reference to feeling "too shy or humble" suggests a lack of confidence or social anxiety that holds the singer back from making changes in their life.
The repeated lines about feeling a body close behind them, but turning around to find no one there, reveal the singer's longing for connection and touch. The lyrics suggest a sense of loneliness and isolation that is only heightened on weekends when others seem to be out enjoying themselves.
Overall, "Another Weekend" is a poignant exploration of the feeling of being stuck in a repetitive cycle and the desire for meaningful connection.

I really don’t think this guy gets enough credit for his amazing ear for melody. One of the most creative pop songwriters of this generation!
Scotty P
Everything's right there, except for "creative". Because he's very, very, good at being derivative.
Nonsensical Abyss
@Scotty P derivative can be creative too imo
Scotty P
@Nonsensical Abyss That's been true in the past, but is not possible now, because everything's been done. There's nowhere to 'move'.
Nonsensical Abyss
@Scotty P i dont get the dichotomy between the two tbh, if nothing is original anymore then isnt the only way to be creative is to make something out of the things that have been rehash before? I dont see why it cant be true now as it is back then
Scotty P
@Nonsensical Abyss Because, up until; say, 1988, there was indeed crossovers and mix-ups and fusions and blends of things, there were revivals of things too, but this was in tandem with new and progressive things which were always being done. That's just not possible anymore. It's take what's been done and do 'something' with it, as Ariel Pink does and does it very well and I really like Ariel Pink! Or, just dig everything which has already been done because there's SO much which has been done and it's all so good, and that's what I do!
Psychedelic Pain
This songs gives me such an euphoric, but also a heavy depressing vibe. I love it anyway
