3. Arise was an American progressive Southern Gospel trio from southwestern Ohio.
Arise began around 1998 in Fairfield, OH USA. Jason Begley and Kim Romine, both final members and cousins, started the group. For years, they sang in their home church and around the community at various singings and church gatherings.
In 2002, Arise recorded their first album, the self-titled Arise. It was a collection of traditional Southern Gospel staples and fan favorites, including the songs "I Got Up and Went", "I'm Bound for a City", and Dottie Rambo's "I've Never Been This Homesick Before".
During the summer of 2003, Arise was named a semi-finalist in the Exalting Him 2003 National Talent Search.
Arise recorded a new project titled A Living Testimony in the summer of 2004. It was produced by Jimmy Dooley. It was Arise's first attempt at original material, including songs written by Jimmy Dooley, John Darin Rowsey, Greg Day, Sheri LaFontaine, Crystal Lewis, and Arise's own Jason Begley. It also included their first radio single, "Taking A Turn For The Best", featured on the Rick Hendrix Company's Compilation #33.
Arise is now on an indefinite hiatus, having parted ways in 2006. There has been talk about reuniting and possibly with a new name, although nothing has been official.

5. Arise is a Thrash Metal band from Japan
Four guys formed the band in Dec 2005 with genuine 80's thrash metal influence. This band named "Arise" started their gigs in May 2006 after their hyperactive preparation based on "Thrash", which was way beyond "mixture of music" type thing. The band has opened for many bands from many countries and is respected by the people in local music industries. No frills, no fancy stuff. Proud of being minor. Their aggressive attitude tells that. Their 1st demo "It's only THRASH! But I like it!" was released in April 2007. The eye of the loud and heavy music hurricane will invade your town! They have released their debut full length album in 2013, titled Don't Worry Be Happy!. They are still active.

King of Yesterday Slave of Today
Arise Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Etched to my vision as a spear through my eyes.
I have no memory of what I have done,
This was the last time, this was the final one!
Running dry, feeling low,
Burning headache, twisting knives in my eyes.
I can't believe that I will do it again,
The walls are leaning over me,
Moving closer, ready to fall.
Every noise is like hitting the anvil,
This was the last time, this was the final one.
No, never again! stop the chaos and I'll surrender!
No, never again! Maybe tomorrow all is forgotten.
In "King of Yesterday, Slave of Today" by Arise, the lyrics explore the theme of addiction and the control it holds over a person's life. The song's opening lines speak directly to the pain associated with this addiction as the distorted colors create a painful light that feels like a spear through the singer's eyes. The following lines reveal the singer's confusion and lack of control over their actions, unable to remember what they've done. The chorus contrasts this powerlessness with the singer's former glory as the "king of yesterday," now demanding that they become "the slave of today."
The second verse presents physical symptoms of addiction, highlighting the devastating toll it takes on one's body and mind. The walls around the singer feel suffocating, and every noise is like "hitting the anvil," representing the intense pain and noise in their head. Despite their suffering, the singer acknowledges their addiction as a cycle that they will inevitably continue. However, they then plead for a way out, recognizing the chaos that addiction brings and expressing a desire to surrender it.
Overall, "King of Yesterday, Slave of Today" is a powerful and emotional exploration of addiction and its effects on one's life.
