Sixma is one of the best producers in the whole trance world...even though u don't like his tracks, I bet you some tracks you do like were produced by him without u even knowing. He is one of the most used ghost producers in the game. He's very versitile. Go back and listen to some of his stuff when he called himself M6. Also he helped produce Gaia empire of hearts among a plethora of other tunes from uplifting to big room ect ect. So I'm not sure why you would think it would sound bad just because he help produce it?

To me the MOST generic kind of trance is the 138+ degga degga stuff...even though that's what I produce and have released ;). Its by far the easiest to learn quickly because the basslines and leads pads ect are very generic in their patterns and such. That said its not easy to produce it amazingly but it is easy to produce a typical track in that style. I'm not saying all of it is l ALWAYS generic but a lot of it is soooo similar that its totally the most generic style in my mind. I bored myself to death of it. It has to be a really spectacular uplifting tune for me to add it to my playlists these days. There are just way to many people trying to produce it right now. Its the typical entry level trance genre for new producers. And there is a new record label popping up every week. I was asked once to do song selection for abora recordings radio show by ori uplift called "uplifting only" and the amount of tunes every single week that came in in promo was absolutely rediculous. Between 300 and 500 NEW uplifting tunes every single week. The quality is so watered down now that its really hard to find the good stuff. And like I said it all sounds so similar. Now there are fantastic artists that keep innovating in this genre...Darren porter, reorder, standerwick, suckley, aly & fila, among others but in general when I hear an uplifting tune at 138 most times I think to myself, "oh...another generic uplifter". But when I hear tunes like this I think wow check out that bass sound or that lead, or the groove is awesome ect ect. Progressive trance and all the newer styles keep it fresh with the newer sounds yet still maintain the essence of trance with the melodies and drive and atmosphere and emotion. Just my thoughts.

trance is too diverse. from progressive to uplifting to psy to tech. even i listen to uplifting trance and that's my fav sub genre too. that doesn't mean i dont listen to other sub genres. if you don't like don't listen please.
