Lavar o pé na água pra depois sujar de areia
Esperar o vaga-lume piscar outra vez
Ouvir a onda mais distante por trás da onda mais próxima
Sujar o pé de areia pra depois lavar na água
Respirar
Sentir o sabor do que comer
Se chover, tomar chuva
Não esperar nada acontecer
Ser gentil com qualquer pessoa
Sujar o pé de areia pra depois lavar na água
Lavar o pé na água pra depois sujar de areia
Esperar o vaga-lume piscar outra vez
Ouvir a onda mais distante por trás da onda mais próxima
Respirar
Sentir o sabor do que comer
Caminhar
Se chover, tomar chuva
Ter saudade no final da tarde
Para quando escurecer esquecer
Ao se deitar para dormir, dormir
The lyrics of Arnaldo Antunes's song "Num dia" talk about the simple pleasures of life that we often take for granted. Antunes muses over the cyclical nature of things - one moment you are dirty and you clean yourself only to get dirty again. He talks about waiting for the firefly to blink again and listening to the farthest ocean wave. These simple experiences make up our lives, yet we often forget to appreciate them.
Antunes also emphasizes the importance of being present in the moment and embracing whatever comes your way. Whether it's walking in the rain, being kind to someone or feeling nostalgic at the end of the day, he encourages us to live fully and embrace every experience.
The recurring theme in the lyrics is the act of getting dirty and washing up, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for taking risks and making mistakes in life but also taking responsibility for them and learning from them.
Overall, the song is a reminder to slow down and appreciate the small things in life, to not wait for the big moments but to be present in every moment and enjoy the journey.
