Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia September 7, 1980, music first staked its all-important claim in Arnej’s life around age fourteen when an early computer-composed electronica track snagged his interest. What followed was a stretch of exploration and experimentation within the many and various realms of music. Before long, Arnej settled into Euro dance, eventually stumbling upon Psy and Goa trance in the mid-90’s. He devoted his attention to the works of Man With No Name, Astral Projection and Hallucinogen.
At that time, the trance sound – which he would grow so passionate about – was still in the process of establishing an identity. By the late 90’s though, trance had thoroughly carved out its niche in the music world and Arnej’s interest in it expanded accordingly. Entranced by its complex soundscapes and harmonies, he set about taking the journey into music production. Although the road of a producer has had its fair share of bumps and curves, Arnej’s commitment to his craft shows no sign of slowing up, as as evidenced by his ever-growing body of work.
Some of his more notable and successful tracks include: ‘Rendezvous,’ ‘The Ones That Get Away,’ ‘The Return,’ ‘They Always Come Back’ and ’Strangers We Have Become,’ all of which have gotten positive support from the DJ elite, given exposure by such notable as Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, David Guetta, and Paul Oakenfold, among many others.
Arnej has also remixed for some of the most-respected names in trance, including Armin, The Thrillseekers, Mr. Sam, Blake Jarrell and Push, aka M.I.K.E, as well as some of the newer names in trance to pop up in recent years, Evgeny Bardyuzha, Mike Saint-Jules, and Dash Berlin.

But happiness can't see that love is sad
That love is sad
Sadness is hanging there
To show love somewhere something needs a change
They need a change
To take the house he built for her apart
To make it break it's gonna take
A metal ball hung from a chain
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
To pick the broken ruins up again
To mend her heart, to help him start
To see a world apart from pain
Lad's gal is all he has
Gal's gladness hangs upon the love of lad
The love of lad
Some things gal says to lad aren't meant as bad
But cause a little pain
They cause him pain
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
To take the house he built for her apart
To make it break, it's gonna take
A metal ball hung from a chain
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
To pick the broken ruins up again
To mend her heart, to help him start
To see a world apart from pain
Don't call me at work again
No no, the boss still hates me
I'm just tired and I don't love you anymore
And there's a restaurant, we should check out
Where the other nightmare people like to go
I mean nice people, baby wait
I didn't mean to say nightmare
Lad looks at other gals
Gal thinks Jim Beam is handsomer than lad
He isn't bad
Call off the wedding band
Nobody wants to hear that one again
Play that again
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
To take the house he built for her apart
To make it break, it's gonna take
A metal ball hung from a chain
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
To pick the broken ruins up again
To mend her heart, to help him start
To see a world apart from pain
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
They'll need a crane, they'll need a crane
They'll need a crane
The lyrics of Arnej's song They Need Us are a poetic depiction of the intricacies of relationships and the need for change to bring happiness. The first stanza suggests that love sees happiness, but happiness cannot see the sadness that love may be feeling. This sadness is represented by the imagery of it "hanging there" like a heavy weight on the relationship. The chorus then introduces the metaphor of needing a crane to take apart the house that was built for the other person, effectively breaking the relationship down to its ruins. This symbolizes the necessity of tearing down the old patterns and ways of being in order to rebuild something new.
The second verse delves into the specifics of the couple's issues. It describes how Lad's love for Gal is all he has, but Gal's happiness is dependent upon it, and how some of Gal's words cause Lad pain. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the need for a major change to mend their hearts and see a world apart from pain. The final verse offers a glimpse into the couple's communication struggles, as Lad is tired and no longer loves Gal, while also suggesting that there may be a glimmer of hope in finding a restaurant where "nice people" go.
Overall, the lyrics can be interpreted as a call for needed change in a relationship that has become stagnant and painful. It acknowledges the difficulty of such change, but suggests that it is necessary in order to move forward and find happiness.
