Tempest
Arsonists Get All The Girls Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I stutter as the world outside me
came to our doorstep in the rain
harbored though violence
the sky holds contempt for me with snarled up
suppressed yourself
suppression is the only answer
to times like this
so the rain came crashing down
with revenge in its gaze unlike
something i have seen before
and i felt a friction in the air begin to rise
atmosphere berates my courage through
thick and thin it made no difference to it
at times i wish for the lucid dreams
but receive no less than ignorance
i, i ventured out to what seems apocalypse
a step forward reveals
an exponential makeshift of panic
they sky bleeds a disgrace upon all patrons
and we look upwards in distress
and we look upwards in distress
and the rain sank like daggers
into the earth
my hair lifts and my skin dances on edge
my pupils dialate to distance
because the sources
introduced itself in cursive horror,
my consciousness convulsed merciless
It's merciless
it personified me
it personified me so perfectly
blank is the word
for portrait i see
and its difference is likely visionary
to what we've ever looked for
and what we've ever found
i have been sent into a working machine again
a glance at the wretched
hieroglyphic
sends me
sends me into a place i haven't

been in years
a place without fear.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Arsonists Get All The Girls's song Tempest describe a surreal and chaotic scene of a stormy night where the singer is confronted with the hostile world outside. The rain, which is a natural element, is depicted as having revenge in its gaze, and the sky is shown to hold contempt for the singer, creating a sense of fear and danger. The atmosphere is described as berating the singer's courage, making it difficult for them to face the situation. Despite the chaos, the singer ventures out to face the apocalypse, which reveals an exponential makeshift of panic. As the rain sinks into the earth like daggers, the singer's hair lifts, and their skin dances on edge as their pupils dilate with fear.

The lyrics suggest that despite the chaotic and hostile world outside, there is a possibility for the singer to find a place without fear. The song's title "Tempest" refers to a violent storm, and the lyrics highlight the destructive power of nature and the hostility of the outside world. The lyrics are characterized by a sense of desperation and fear, with the singer struggling to make sense of the chaos around them.

@JackBaguley No you are defiantly right. They've mature so much as artists (even though only two are original members). They have the same style but are still progressive in respect to not playing the same old bland music or just rehashing old shit like bands have been doing lately. is that a run on sentence? i dont care. fuck english. this will probably be the best album of 2011. hoping fear before releases an album this year though; that might just top agatg's.

@Itachi2336 Actually, I agree with you. I literally just listened to the whole album back to back, and didn't notice when one song ended and the next one started.
