The lyrics to this song are a hoot! "I have a good mind to spank you than to thank you for all the things you've done". Truly a masterpiece.

Hope Scandinoval That, and: "You're a sweet little headache, If you keep on that way

But a sweet little heartache You'll turn out to be some day

One of the best vocalists around. This music is so magic!

Lawrence Phelps

Love the echo. Perfect song

CoverRecordings

I have this song on a 10-inch, 78-R.P.M. shellac phonograph record. It was the, "B-Side" to, "I Have Eyes", also played by Artie Shaw and His Orchestra, and also featuring Helen Forrest's vocal. The reverberation must have been added later. It is not part of the original record, and in the time this song was recorded, it was common to record in a dead room (in other words, one with very little or no acoustics).

Dave Day

I prefer the 'dead' version, particularly on Artie's clarinet.

Dave Day

This was Helen's first record and she always said she hated it. I think it is because she sounds like her idol, Mildred Bailey. Only a month or so later she sounded completely different.

Super excellent

I think I recognize the sound of this track and I am pretty sure it is from one of the old RCA Camden LP reissues...although this one has a lot of 'echo'. maybe it was the fake stereo version.

curt wesser

Helen Forrest was often referred to as the white Mildred Bailey
