ACB released its first full length album, Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest, on June 21 of 2005, and was featured in Solid State's Young Bloods Tour with The Chariot, Showbread, and He Is Legend.
Earlier in the year, the band released a statement saying that vocalist TJ was getting married and leaving the band, so they decided to call it quits. The band's second album, titled "Come Now Sleep" was released August 14, 2007, on Tooth and Nail Records. Different from their previous recordings, however, the genre featured on Come Now Sleep has been classified by the band themselves as Rock / Indie / Progressive.
As Cities Burn's third studio album was released on April 21, 2009, with the title "Hell or High Water". The band's music evolved even more with their final album, venturing into indie rock territory but while still maintaining their unique post-hardcore sound.
On the bands myspace on July 17, 2009, the band announced that they had broken up and were going to pursue other interests.

2013 - they are Currently supporting Underoath on their farewell tour. They have stated that they are only playing song off of Son, I loved you at your darkest.

As Cities Burn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We are truly alone
'Cause God ain't up in the sky
Holding together our bones
Remember we used to speak
Now I'm starting to think
That Your voice was really my own
God, this can't be
God, this can't be
God, could it be that all we see is it?
Is this it? Is this it?
Won't you come down, Heaven?
Won't you come down?
Won't you cut through the clouds?
Won't you come down?
Won't you come down, Heaven?
Won't you come down?
Won't you cut through the clouds?
Won't you come down?
Come down, come down, come down
Oh, my Heaven, why
Do you have doors to close?
Do you have clouds to stop his voice?
Oh, my Heaven, why
Do you have doors to close?
Do you have clouds to stop his voice
(On the way down?)
And, God, this can't be
And, God, this can't be
And, God, can it be that all we see is it?
Is this it?
And, God, does grace reach
To this side of madness?
'Cause I know this can't be
The great peace we all seek
Won't you come down, Heaven?
Won't you come down?
Won't you cut through the clouds?
Won't you come down?
Did your clouds to stop his voice?
And, brother, have you found
The great peace that we all seek
You say take a look around
If there's a God, then he must be asleep
God must be asleep
God must be asleep
God must be asleep
God must be asleep
The lyrics to As Cities Burn's song "Contact" are both raw and emotional, reflecting a deep sense of disillusionment and frustration with the concept of God and faith. The first verse sets the tone for the song, as the singer suggests that hearts aren't really our guides and that we are truly alone. The idea that God is not holding together our bones, as some might believe, underscores this feeling of isolation and abandonment. The second verse reveals a realization and a shift in perspective, as the singer acknowledges that perhaps what they thought was God's voice was merely their own bouncing off the ceiling. The chorus pleads with God to come down from heaven and reveal himself, asking why he has doors to close and clouds that stop his voice. The second half of the song echoes this same sense of frustration and disappointment with God, ultimately concluding that God must be asleep if he exists at all.
The song speaks to a universal struggle that many people face - the search for meaning and purpose in a seemingly indifferent and chaotic world. The lyrics grapple with the question of whether or not there is a higher power, and if so, why he would allow suffering and chaos to exist. The repetition of the phrase "God, this can't be" underscores a sense of disbelief and desperation, while the repeated plea for God to come down from heaven suggests a desire for connection and understanding.
Overall, "Contact" is a powerful and raw expression of human vulnerability and the search for meaning in a seemingly meaningless world. The lyrics feel especially relevant and poignant in a time of great social and political upheaval, as many people are grappling with uncertainty and disillusionment.
