If all I see is the different, different day
When the only thing I'm noticing every day is the things that differ, it undermines any sense of continuity and normality.

With thoughts alone, it's how I drift away
I can lose sight of my surroundings just by getting lost in my own thoughts.

I paint a picture of where I want to stay
Despite the sense of disorientation, I still hold onto the idea of having a place to belong, a destination that I cherish.

But all I have is to dream, to dream away
Unfortunately, dreams are all I have, as the gulf between reality and ideals is too wide.

And all I see is the different, different day
The monotony of the world around me continues to eat away at my sense of security.

I paint a picture of where I want to stay
I continue to envision a different life for myself, one that's more fulfilling and purposeful.

With thoughts alone, it's how I drift away
Once again, my thoughts bear me away from my current reality, allowing temporary escape.

But all I have is to dream, to dream away!
Sadly, dreams are all I have to cling onto, no matter how fleeting or unrealistic they may be.

Now all that's left is for me to say my prayer
As a last resort, I turn to prayer, hoping that there is some power or deity that has control over my fate, my eventual success or failure.

I'm losing faith in the things I have to say
The things that I used to believe and stand for are all starting to falter, and I'm losing confidence in myself and what I previously thought was true.

Now I know that the string will start to break
I've reached a point of no return where my faith and beliefs are crumbling, and I fear that I may not recover.

And all I want is to dream, to dream away
Once more, all that can provide solace is the temporary sense of fulfilment that dreams bring.

Dream, dream away
The refrain is a simple repetition of the fact that dreams are all that is left, a repetition of the hope that things could be different if only in my own mind.
