promise
As One Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A promise means no matter what
Whenever, always, forever
I'll be there, by your side, together
Take my heart, oh please do
This has got to be love, true
'Cause every single moment, I want to kiss you
People keep their promises
Or at least that's what my mama says
Perhaps you were sick for that lesson, a shame
But now when I'm looking back
I know your fingers were crossed behind your back
It's what I tell myself to lessen the pain
I thought a promise meant no matter what
Whenever, always, forever, but
Here we are, no longer together
Now I've got trust issues
Used up boxes and boxes of tissues

From all the crying I've done because I miss you
From all the crying cause I really miss you
