As They Sleep Lyrics

Give me the strength to move on
Accept the loss of reason
To find find a way
To say farewell and not goodbye
So many questions lie
Within the depths of our past
Await the day
No longer sacrifice
Time slipping away this is all too real
Can't explain the way this makes me feel
I'll never say I didn't try
I can't sit back and watch you die
I shall not sell my soul in vein
Hold on so gracefully
Everything in life shall drift away
Hold on to what's true to you
We, we shall be stripped of all our flesh
We, we shall stand up and rise against
Time slipping away this is all too real
Can't explain the way this makes me feel
I'll never say I didn't try
I can't sit back and watch you die
Embrace Insanity
As it courses through my veins
Read between the lines
As we corrupt our minds
We see unrelenting greed
I see your face
And it sickens me
Mass hypocrisy
Making its way to me
Sit back watch it bleed the dream
Inducing hate
Another casualty
Time slipping away this is all too real
Can't explain the way this makes me feel
I'll never say I didn't try
I can't sit back and watch you die
I shall not sell my soul in vein
Just hold on tight for one more day
Hold on so gracefully
Everything in life shall drift away
Hold on to what's true to you
The song "Pangaea" by As They Sleep talks about accepting the loss of reason and moving on from memories left in time. The lyrics suggest that sometimes it is necessary to say farewell instead of goodbye, and to find a way to hold on gracefully to what is true to you. The chorus speaks about the harsh reality of time slipping away and how it cannot be explained but only felt. The singer expresses that even though they tried their best, they cannot sit back and watch someone die.
The second verse suggests that corruption and greed have infiltrated society, and despite seeing the faces of those responsible, it sickens the singer to see this mass hypocrisy. The lyrics talk about reading between the lines and seeing the unrelenting greed, inducing hate, and causing more casualties. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the importance of not selling your soul in vain and holding on to what is true.
The song's overall message is one of resilience and hope. Despite the difficult circumstances we may find ourselves in, it is essential to hold onto what is true and not give up. The song suggests that even though it might be tough to hold on, there is always hope and something worth fighting for.
