É verão alegria, aê
É calor todo dia
É verão na Bahia, aê
Quero seguir
Sempre a cantar
Folhas no vento a bailar
Pra conseguir
Baila que eu vou
Baila que eu vou
Encontrar você
Baila que eu vou
Baila que eu vou
Mergulhar no mar
Ainda me lembro
Que um dia joguei
Essa mensagem
Sempre vai navegar
No vai e vem
Das ondas eu desejei
Você pra mim
The lyrics of Asa de Águia's "Baila Que Eu Vou" is a celebratory ode to life and love in the summer in Bahia, Brazil. The repetition of "é amor todo dia" and "é verão todo dia" effectively communicates the underlying theme that love and warmth are present every day, not just in the literal sense of summer. The imagery of "folhas no vento a bailar" captures the movement and joy of life, as if the world is dancing with the singer. The chorus, "baila que eu vou", translates to "dance and I will follow" which can be interpreted as the singer's willingness to follow their lover wherever they go, both physically and emotionally.
The second verse describes a moment in the past where the singer threw a message out to sea, hoping their lover would receive it. The message is said to still be sailing on the waves, an eternal expression of the singer's desire for their lover. This moment adds a layer of depth to the otherwise upbeat song, hinting at the longing and vulnerability that exists even in the midst of love and joy.
