I'm an insulator by trade and learning about asbestos (and how to remove it) is part of my job, but digging deeper into the molecular makeup of asbestos and its basically sand molecules stabilized with metals as part of the molecule itself, basically its glass that wont melt easily, but because of the molecular structure they form into small crystalline fibers,

the problem ultimately isn't the asbestos however, its your body trying to get rid of it, the fibers are too small to be forcefully removed by coughing, and too stable to be broken down in the lung, and so because the particles are sharp and cause damage they force the cells to adapt somehow so what do they do?

A) they form a scar around the asbestos fiber, on its own this just reduces lung capacity a bit, but with enough fibers you have too much scar tissue and cant breathe, this would be the famed Asbestosis where the victim slowly loses lung capacity die to excessive scar tissue

B) the body can try to flush it out by trying to use fluids to dislodge it, it sometimes does this with toxic gasses like H2S, but this fails and ultimately fills the lungs entirely with fluids and you drown, this would be mesothelioma, which can occur within 24 hours of exposure

C) finally, the lung can repeatedly replace and repair the surrounding tissue at an accelerated rate leaving the replacing cells prone to mutation, and because the body is more concerned with removing the fiber then destroying errant cells they can reproduce on their own and hijack the body's systems forming into a malignant tumor, Lung cancer

whats Ironic is that on a molecular level asbestos and geopolymers are nearly identical, the only real difference is the structure of geopolymers prevent it from forming into small fibers so the body can simply cough them out, otherwise its simply silicone oxygen and metals like magnesium or aluminum stabilizing each other, the difference is asbestos forms into molecular bundles that form a crystal lattice, where geopolymers form a continuous chain.

1. There is no such thing as free healthcare. No doctors or drug companies provide services and medicine for free.
2. The side effect of socialised healthcare is that it’s finite. Somebody has to make a call on what is or isn’t treated. To the extent in my own U.K., they had things called “pathways” which was basically doctors getting together and deciding who got treatment and who was left to die eg young father supporting a family got treatment, old man left to die.
3. I live in U.K. and have a rare form of arthritis and am still waiting after 6 months for treatment - if it isn’t life threatening it’s appalling service.
4. Socialised healthcare often results in strongly unionised workplaces with an anti-customer culture. The U.K. is awash with adverts saying “don’t come to us for this, treat yourself” and shaming of “worried well” - basically, only come to us if your really sick, often when you’re beyond help.
5. You will find it very hard to sue for malpractice - after all, it’s public money.
6. Medical staff earn the same. The cost of healthcare per capita is actually more expensive - it’s a monopoly.
7. You still have to pay for a lot of stuff like dental work, anything which isn’t life threatening - such as scars etc. You also have to pay £9 for every medical prescriptions (but of course unemployed or other social categories don’t pay - if you’re fit and working they want more out of you in any way they can.
8. You will never ever get anyone on the phone without a lot of effort.
9. As it’s a monopolised cartel, you can’t complain and if you do, nothing happens.
10. The staff will become completely dependent on political parties taxing to pay them higher salaries and working benefits. You have an entire class of employee parties like the Labour Party can bribe with better pay and conditions to get their votes. So it’s corrupt in many ways.

You can still provide treatment to the poor without a fully socialised system. Most ordinary people here still think it’s some kind of free benefit they don’t pay for and support it, they don’t realise their tax will go down and for most people, private insurance is actually better and cheaper.
