Nikalta aa raha hai aaftab aahistaa aahista
Sarakhti jaye hai rukh se naqab aahistaa aahista
Jawan hone lage jab vo to humse kar liya parda-2
Haya yak lakt aai aur shabab aahista aahista
Nikalta aa raha hai aaftab aahista aahista
Vo bedardi se sar kaate amir aur mai kahu unse-2
Huzoor aahista aahista, janaab aahistaa aahista.
Sarakhti jaye hai rukh se naqab aahista aahista
The song "Sarakti Jaye Hai" sung by Asha Bhosle depicts the beauty of a woman hiding behind a veil slowly revealing herself to the world in a gentle and gradual manner. The opening lines "Sarakti jaye hai rukh se naqaab aahistaa, aahistaa" meaning "The veil slides away slowly from her face" serves as a metaphor for the mysterious persona of the woman being revealed. The line "Nikalta aa raha hai aafatab aahista aahista" meaning "The Sun is slowly rising from behind the veil" signifies her feminine attributes and subtle beauty shining through her veil.
The song further speaks of a youth engaging with the woman and persuading her to show her face, signified through the line "Jawan hone lage jab wo, to hum se kar liya parda" meaning "As she began to grow younger, she hid from us behind a veil". The line "Haya yak lakt aai aur shabab aahista aahista" meaning "The reticence transformed slowly into youthful expression" depicts the woman's initial reluctance to reveal herself gradually giving way to her youthful charm.
The song concludes with the lines "Vo bedardi se sar kaate amir aur mai kahu unse, huzoor aahista aahista, janaab aahistaa aahista" meaning "Cutting off the heads of those who are heartless and addressing them politely and gently". This is a metaphor for the woman gaining confidence and expressing herself politely and gently but still standing firm against those who want to bring her down.
